Yeah, there's always something else that catches my attention on Netflix! Or I rewatch what I already know, like Shutter Island, Departed etc...

It is on Netflix, which makes me happy. it's also on Amazon Instant Video. I have the Blu Ray and that has some great bonus features. That movie needed to win Oscars last year...got snubbed because the Academy hates Leo for some reason (he should have 4 Oscars by now).

^^ SO agree with that. Leo should have won the Oscar for playing Arnie it "What's Eating Gilbert Grape?"

I don't know as much about that...but from Titanic, Gangs, Basketball Diaries, Departed, Blood Diamond, Aviator, Shutter Island, Django, Wolf...the man doesn't make bad movies!!! Same with Scorsese!

If you could see Leo playing Arnie in a clip, he was playing a mentally challenged boy, and if you didn't know, you would have thought he really was mentally challenged. It was an amazing performance from him in his younger years, I think he was 15 or so.

Oh, I'm very familiar with What's Eating Gilbert Grape. I used to watch it regularly when it first came out. I just don't see that as warranting an Oscar. Certainly, he deserved the nomination he received for it, but not the statue.

I disagree, but everyone is entitled to their opinions.

Either way, Scorses and DiCaprio have both been robbed of Oscar noms and wins since!

The first time I remember crying at the Oscars (outside of the Memorium videos) was when Scorsese won his statue for Departed. SO deserved.

I like a good acceptance speech. Jeffrey Tambor's from the Golden Globes this year got the water works rolling...same with Michael Keaton's.

I loved Geena Davis's the year she won the GG for her role on that TV Show where she played the female president? She told a story about how a little girl told her how because of her she wanted to be president one day, and then laughed and said, no that's not true, but it should be... That made me laugh and it was memorable!

This year had a lot of deep speeches, too. (Golden Globes). I expect the Oscars to be the same!

Sometimes though the people that talk the most, shouldn't. The writers go on and on, and on etc...
