Superior Tom Riddle.

The two actors in HBP played him more like a serial killer and whilst that works in theory with Voldemort's Dark Side, I preferred Christian's elegant take on the role.

his younger versions in HBP personally felt/came across to me more like sociopaths to me than a straight up serial killer

I personally still like Hero’s performance

it’s interesting though Tom becomes more charming as he ages it seems like

What I loved about Christian's performance is that it's the closest thing you get in these movies to imagining that's how Ralph Fiennes' Voldemort could have been as Tom Riddle. Suave but also cunning. I do feel that Ralph studied him before playing the role. The other young actors were just playing it as a disturbed child and I couldn't really make a connection between them and Ralph.

Yeah that was cleverly done by Rowling and a great scene. Pivotal for Harry's trust issues going forward in the series - he truly believed he was being helped by Tom to solve a mystery but he was being completely misled.

I feel if you're gonna give a backstory to the central villain then you need to cast actors who are able to imitate each other's movements and speech. So in terms of continuity, I definitely feel that the portrayals of Voldemort by Christian and Ralph are the most in-sync with each other than the boys in HBP

I think it’s important to note though that the character is at different points/stages in his life so it’s understandable that Riddle wouldn’t be at that level of charm yet/full blown Voldemort

just feel the need to defend Hero’s performance cause I think he did a good job of capturing the presence/essence of the character without overacting

if you’ve read the book it felt to me pretty accurate to how the character was also portrayed there

also this is minor but I don’t like the haircut for year 5? Riddle

made him look too young IMO

I definitely preferred him in HBP to that movie based on fan fiction called After... Some of the worst acting and scriptwriting along with 50 Shades

He has a quiet intensity about him in HBP, it reminded me of Damien in the first two THE OMEN films.
