The Jungle Book is STILL my favorite live action Disney adaption and definitely the best one (With The Little Mermaid and Cinderella following it, but Eric/Ariel are the best live action Disney couple out of all of them. They have so much chemistry *hearts*) I didn't care for 102 Dalmatians much, the first film is much better. You definitely need to see that if you haven't lol. I also liked Maleficent (not the sequel as much though cause it wasn't needed) but I have mixed feelings on it cause I don't care how they tried to make the villain the victim (and it seems like a lot of movies would start doing that in general) Oh, I also hated the fairies in the film. Despite that, I think Angelina Jolie did great in the role and her relationship with Aurora is really sweet. Of course, Mulan will probably always be the worst. That one shows how not to make a live action adaption, and that one really pissed me off since I love the animated film and the Mulan character (She's still my favorite Disney Princess) They just changed too much about the original with Mulan already having powers instead of her becoming a powerful warrior, no Shang, No Mushu, a different and worse villain, etc. Ugh, it still drives me crazy!
So to me, these films are a mixed bag. Some are good, some are okay, some are bad/pointless. Some turn out good, but they are really getting lazy trying to desperately live action every Disney film (and I know Princess and the Frog will eventually come, and that's probably the only one I would be curious about since I love that film, feel it's underrated, and didn't get the respect it deserves) I'm so sick of Hollywood constantly being lazy nowadays SMH. |

I did like Maleficent
Never watched the sequel to it It was really cute how her real life daughter played young Aurora in the movie I thought the scene with them in the forest was really cute and precious Yeah the fairies were just completely bumbling idiots as humans Of course though the animated sleeping beauty will always be superior Yup Mulan was just bad in terms of the characterization of her as a character Last edited by atwoodsmariano; 01-01-2024 at 11:38 PM |
