So Pari, you would prefer some horror movies that don't have the blood but are in turn still scary?

One of the top of my head that has a great story is "The Ring" from 2002 I believe.

A few others I can think of now are:

The Conjuring
Devil
The Haunting in Connecticut
Insidious
Insidious: Chapter 2
Oculus
Poltergeist

Agree on both accounts. Millie has dubbed me the Horror God. Between her and I, we could recommend probably close to 10,000 horror movies without blinking. I've personally seen now close to 5,000 horror movies and I'd say about half were blood soakers (guts and gore, etc...). The best ones I've seen have minimal violence (Exorcist, Silence of the Lambs, Halloween, Poltergeist).
