The weird thing is that her mother watched the rowing competition and she couldn't notice that her daughter was there with the boys. She really didn't pay attention to her daughter.

That's probably why she decided to go through w/her scheme in the beginning to get her mom's attention. Didn't her mom freak out when she cut her hair?

He has many friends but he is too busy, so I don't thing he can keep in touch with everybody.

Yeah, the one thing in his favor is a lot of his friends are in the same business as him so I guess he does get to see some when they do events together etc.
