I'm not sure they did. Kitty Pryde was drawn quite young-looking in her early years on the team in the early '80s and Jubilee was portrayed looking quite young in the '90s and late '80s when she was in her early years in the comics.

I think I remember the first time that Jubilee was introduced was when the X-Men were still in hiding in Australia and traveling around using those teleportation portals that Aboriginal guy was making. I forgot his name. That was the late 80's, right?

Yeah. He was called Gateway. Yeah, Jubilee sneaked into their base and later rescued Wolverine after he'd been captured.

Yeah, I remember that issue!

Jubilee was at a shopping mall when she all of a sudden saw a portal open up and Rogue, Storm, and Psylocke(I think) all walk through it and go shopping. Not exactly inconspicuous.

And she was narrating her story in the first person narrative.

Yep, I think that was when I was collecting X-Factor comics when the original five had reunited. That's pretty much the only reason I began collecting X-Men comics, because of the crossovers between the two titles.
