Oh Alex, I read the Batman story you co-wrote (with your vote). A Death in the Family. It was relatively good, though it still had some iof that feeling of emptiness that marks post-Crisis DC stories. DC lost its soul, its mystery, its magic, when it rebooted. Post-Crisis stuff tends to come more from the head than from the heart. For example, Byrne did a lot of overthinking and nonsense-writing in his Superman stories post-Crisis. I liked a Death in the Family a lot better than Batman Year One and The Dark Knight Returns, but I don't think there's any post-CRisis DC story I'd endorse 100%.

Well, it wasn't just me, sum1. A lot of people voted to kill off Jason.

And I think the main Batman title sort of overlapped with the Crisis On Infinite Earths, sum1. Jason Todd's storyline began before the Crisis happened, I believe. So while it was technically after the Crisis, it was also consistent with the continuity that preceded it.

I agree, I think a softer reboot or retcon could've accomplished enough of what DC wanted to do without remaking the entire universe.

I am fully aware of that. You don't need to explain obvious things to me.

It was post-Crisis and written in a post-Crisis mentality. Jason Todd's origin was rebooted after the Crisis, in Batman 408, 1987.

Okay, okay, I'm sorry. Again, just speaking rhetorically. I like to sum things up. Apologies.

I know that Death in the Family was post-Crisis, but I wasn't aware that Jason's origin was altered that dramatically.
