A home-make blend is quite in line with what chai tea is meant to be.

I discovered sage lately. All the cooking show have it down as a "holiday herb" or whatever. And my brother put me in charge of bringing roast veggies for the Christmas dinner. Usually, I put spices on my roast veggies (lately, I've been into garam masala). But the kiddos are picky eaters, like most kids their age, so I tried to milder flavours, right?

Enter sage. I liked it.

On the actual tea front, I've been drinking some Santa's Secret, which is black tea with vanilla and mint. Delicious.

if u eat pork, apparently sage is great with it. sage is also great with potatoes and squash. during fall-winter, i like making butternut squash soup with sage.

some times i steep dried rosemary, thyme and sage. it's very wintery and comforting.

ahh Santa's Secret, i'm not a big fan of the minty taste but i can see why people like it.

Pork has never been a part of my diet. Even before I stopped eating quadrupeds. I had a realization about that watching cooking shows, where cooks would talk about childhood memories of pork chops and apple sauce or sausage of some description.

I did have ham, growing up, but never pork.

Anyway, the roast vegetables I made to go to my brothers (again, taking into consideration children's palates) were butternut squash, sweet potato and carrot. So I guess, even without knowing to choose the vegetables you named, I did.

I like minty tea, but I know my cousin and brother particularly appreciate the vanilla in Santa's Secret. I enjoy vanilla teas, so long as the vanilla isn't too forward.

The kids stuck to the carrots and that was it.

Fair enough on not loving the spearmint taste in tea. I love eating ginger, but can't stand in it tea. No idea why.

I think the important thing is to know what we like and don't like, right?

That was the advantage of David's Tea stores. You could walk in and order a cup of tea to try something new or you could buy a small amount of loose leaf to also try it out.

It's much more expensive to try new things... but I have a feeling that won't stop me.

Good lord, I need to stop buying tea.

So I added a whole bunch of stuff on my Amazon wishlist for tea. Some of which was Teavana gloves!

hmm i barely see any Teavana products here in Canada. it's sad how they closed. i thought it'll give DavidsTea some competition.

Teavana has gloves? I'm assuming they're a labelled product and not gloves made out of tea?

Either way, that's cool! I should look into Teavana products on Amazon. I hadn't thought of that since they left Canada.

I had a lovely green tea with echinacea today, because of waking up feeling like crap, and it made me feel better. Not great, but better.
