I'm currently reading Eclipse, and I'm on chapter 14. Only 7 chapters until they get engaged

Eclipse is my least favorite book because Bella upsets me in it, but there are still many cute moments

B/c it does have its good points

but like you, I have issues with Bella in it.

But otherwise I love the book. Like the egangement chapter and the one when he comes back from hunting and she sleeps on the couch, those are great chapters

I think it's two strongest points are,

1. Compromise

and
2. Florida, where Renee tells Bella that she and Edward attract each other like magnets (or something to that effect)

Eclipse is Bella's weakest point IMO

for several reasons. And we're bound to have issues with that b/c it's in her POV. So say for example, if she comes to realize things which technically didn't make sense before, then it ruins the flow.

ITA. Bella clearly doesn't realize she has feelings for Jacob until the end, but I think Edward does. For instance, she notices that Edward looks not upset but hurt in some sort of a way when she hugs Jacob in front of him. I think he just predicts what happens in the camping chapter

I think it spoke volumes for EB that someone like Renee, who's not a physically close person in Bella's life, can see them for what they really mean to each other.

It's a whole thing with her where she doesn't realize how her actions are affecting others. And OMG I do not want that freakin' tent scene on my screen.

That was like complete torture for Edward, ugh.

I feel so sorry for Edward in Eclipse

Especially when he stays with her all night and she cries her eyes out

I breathed a sigh of relief when I read the draft script b/c that wasn't in it.

I'm telling you right now that I'm getting up and walking out of the theater if they add that in

that's one thing I can't handle.

I had to turn away in NM when JB almost kissed. I couldn't stand it. It's seriously horrible to watch! So Eclipse will be even worse, but we can look forward to BD

UGH they went way too far with that, btw. In the book it wasn't like that AT ALL, Bella wasn't a willing reciprocant.

At least Kristen made up for it by yelling at him afterwards!

Ugh, that made me so pissed. I just read NM, and the almost kisses are nothing. She thinks of Edward all the time and how she could be with Jacob to make him happy. She even thinks that no one will be as good as Edward at all. In the movie, however, we can't hear her thoughts and the almost kisses seem like much more than in the books.
