So, R. L. Stine's "Fear Street" series of books are not only getting a movie but the latest news is that there are three movies in pre-production to be released one month after the other. Something like this has never been done.

That's really cool. I was pleased with how the Goosebumps movie turned out so I hope Fear Street goes well too.

Me too. I was a big fan.

I am now reading a series of books that came out in the 80's by Ed and Lorraine Warren, the paranormal workers who worked on Amityville and other cases and who the movies "The Conjuring" are about.

They are. The one I am reading now came out in 1988 and is called "The Haunted". It's about the Smurl family haunting that lasted 15 years (74-89). A TV movie was made about it in '91.

good hearing the Goosebumps movie is great. I've read every single one and would love to see the movie just never got around to getting it.

I didn't have any copies of the Scary Stories books, I mainly read them at school but I loved them.

This thread is 12 years old but I have changed the title of the thread. It was just for book series, but I have changed it to include just books and magazines. Maybe get more things to post.

The new issue of LIFE is dedicated to the 80's. I saw it in the stands by the register at the grocery store yesterday. The cover says "Movies Of The 1980s" and below it reads "A Look Back At The Decades Best Films". It has E.T., Ferris Bueller, Raiders of the Lost Ark, Ghostbusters, The Breakfast Club and Dirty Dancing on the cover.
