You broke up a full month before me? So jealous! Well, I got £200 out of going in EMA payments, so can't really complain

Nursing is a good option. I know people say nurses are underpaid, but it's a decent wage (they deserve a lot more, obviously, but it's not like going broke) and a really well-respected job. Plus, you get to care about the patients in a way doctors can't/won't, which is important. In my experience, nurses > doctors.

I'd consider it- I'd love to help people, but I'm not scientifically-inclined enough to become a doctor- if I wasn't so squeamish about vomit and saliva. A friend from my old school wants to be a midwife . No thanks. I'm not a big fan of babies as it is, without bringing placenta into it.

English Literature. Writing about reading is pretty much the only thing I'm good at, so it's not even a question in my mind!

Well we had a few days in late June to do activites, but it wasn't proper work so I don't count it.

The pay isn't great for a degree level position and they should definately get more for the work they do.
It does have it's perks like the bursury to cover uni fees. And there are countries offer out work permits for nurses all the time because of shortages, so it would be a good chance to live somewhere else which sounds appealing.
It's not like it is a one track career which initially put me off it.

English Lit would be interesting, I don't think I ever had a particular knack for it though and being able to write in detail is probably required with all the analysis! I am lousy at detail.

They should get paid a lot more simply for the amount of crap they have to deal with from people they're trying to help . I can't blame people for being reluctant to go into the nursing track- underpaid, underappreciated and overworked, so no wonder there's a shortage. But I think it's such a rewarding job at the end of the day, it's worth it.

Detail is my problem. More than once I've been told off for 'going off on tangents'. It's not my fault I find things interesting that aren't asked in the question! It's not my fault the question's boring!

I go back in 3 weeks, not scared, just dreading it. I hate doing stuff after a long period of doing very, very little.

Hey! Glad you had fun!

I've been fine. Honestly, I haven't done much. I did start studying for my driving theory test though, which I guess could be counted as constructive.

I've only had four driving lessons since June! Not good. It terrifies me. I need to get myself sorted and book another one, but I'll have forgotten it all now. I should try to pass my theory test, it might give me a bit of confidence.

I also need to do my homework because I'm back at school in a few weeks, but I can't motivate myself

The first lesson was fine. The second lesson was horrific and I never got over it. The third/fourth were okay, but I still hadn't gained any confidence. I just suck.

It's not a lot, but yeah. Unfortunately

I don't blame you, I'm sure I'd be the same it'd probably take more than 20 lessons for me to even stop going "omg omg omg I'm in a car omg omg what am I DOING IN HERE omg omg omg GET ME OUT!"

My lessons go something like this:

"I'm going to crash. Oh my God I'm going to crashanddie and I never got to tell my mam that I love her". *life flashes before eyes*

"No, Steph, you just pressed the brake too hard."
