Could they not come up with some other better idea. If you cannot use Tabasco sauce. That is not the product I would think to use, even if we are talking about alien human hybrids LOL.
The show could have been interesting. But they went in directions that defied belief. And then they go, knowing the chances of renewal was not great, leaving Max and Liz apart... __________________

They could of just used another brand of hot sauce lol. Even though I didn't care for this version of Max/Liz, it was dumb they didn't end the series together. They should of been the couple to get marred at the end, not Michael/Alex. Especially when Michael didn't even notice Alex was missing for weeks, and at the beginning of the season he didn't even want to move in with him. Then we are supposed to believe this marriage will last? Pfffftttt, please lol.

Season 1 was okay. It was not perfect. It was very different from our version. But it was fun in a lot of ways. But from there, it just was not the same.
I know there were reasons why Alex was missing on Roswell New Mexico. The actor had a lot of personal issues, and needed time off the show. And the show gave it to him. They probably did not know if he could come back. But he was able to return to finish off the season, the series. The storylines from what I did watch came out nowhere, or suddenly twisted for no reason. __________________

I agree who ever thought of drinking nail polish fluid and no one in the town questions it?

I know they are alien human hybrids, but they could not come up with something else. That was disgusting.
In the original series, tabasco sauce made sense. __________________

And I thought the idea at the end was that they'd eventually go home now that they found the console and put it together. Frankly, I don't know if Tabasco Sauce or acetone makes more sense because what do we know what tastes how to aliens or what it does to their biology. I also thought that in the original show the Tabasco Sauce was merely a preference while in the reboot the acetone was actually a necessity to stabilize their cells or something. I mean that's fine, I can overlook that -- some other science-y things though were just too stupid. What they also took from the books was Rosa though, wasn't it? I actually enjoyed her character. I also enjoyed Liz's and Kyle's friendship. What really threw me was that concentration camp for aliens to be honest. It made me feel uncomfortable – the idea that this whole prison building was once full of aliens that survived the crash and people murdered them all after experimenting on them. All these scenes with Michael and his mum made me feel nauseated and depressed. __________________

Alex was missing for a little over a week within this arc (15th of June is when he went missing and Michael found out he was missing around the 21st/22nd of June, and he goes into the pocket dimension to get him on the 24th of June. Michael wouldn't think he was missing because Alex literally told him he would be gone for over two weeks. Tyler had health issues and asked for time away, he was never going to stay gone. Michael and Alex got married because they love each other and their love story has been set up from the very first episode of season 1. Michael was nervous about moving in with Alex because he broke something special of Alex' and he didn't want Alex to realise what a mistake he was making (even though we all know Alex would never think that).

There were lots of plot twists in Roswell New Mexico for sure.

They went their own. Which is good because it was their own show. But I definitely questioned some of their choices. It might have kept me watching if they had gone a different way in so many ways.

They were definitely going their own way. But some of those choices were come on, make it believable. I know we are talking about a show with aliens. But for all it's flaws, the original version was more grounded in realism I think. But then I did not last with the reboot. The actors did well. Just the stories was too much.

I agree our show gave a perfect balance of sci-fi and reality.
The cast did the best with what they were dealt with. I caught parts of season one and two then stopped watching it was all too much with the storylines and trying to keep track of the characters. __________________

Yeah, you can only do so much with what you are given. And they tried to go their own way. But it was way more soapy, and unbelievable. Our version did have a little more realism. Grounded. Which helped given they were dealing with a teenage soap. They were trying to make it modern. But it was too much. And lost me.
I gave it a shot. I did not like the pilot episode, but Season 1 was not that bad. But after that, things went off the rails. __________________
