not really. now that Henry leaves the Witcher, it's doomed no matter how good Liam could be.

For those who don't know:

It’s official: The Witcher is returning for Season 4, and Henry Cavill will be handing his swords to Liam Hemsworth as the new Geralt of Rivia after Season 3. Welcome to the Witcher family, @liamhemsworth!

Wasn't it because they wouldn't give him a long-term contract or something? It could have been avoided if that is true.

no, it seems the general consensus is that it was because of creative differences. The writers refused to stick with source material and even make fun of it and Geralt.

^yes that's the reason, Henry has been very vocal about his dissatisfaction with the writing on the show since the beginning and it only got worse in season 2, he clashed with the producers several times due to creative differences. He has always said that he wanted the show to follow closer to the books, which the producers and the writers clearly refuse to do, I'm sure the fact that the writers hate the source material didn't help. Henry wanted to leave after season 2, and only stayed to do S3 because Netflix practically had to beg him to come back for 1 more season by enticing him with a huge pay raise. But even that isn't enough to convince him to stay on the show long-term. And remember Henry practically gave the producers and writers an ultimatum, during an interview for S2 he said that he would be committed to Lauren's 7 season plan only under 1 condition, that they follow the source material more, but clearly his condition was not met hence he left.

I supported the show during season one. Then season two happened. I stopped giving a crap when they made Eskel a jerk and killed him off. And I always thought that family friendly spin-off was a ridiculous idea. If the show fails, the writers only have themselves to blame.

It seems weird the writers should do that.

It's shocking that Lauren would hire writers who don't like the source material, when you are making an adaptation, you should hire people who actually like the source material or at least respect it. But these Witcher writers not only dislike the books and games, they also mocked it, it's so disrespectful, these people should not even be working on the show. Let's face it, the show needs Henry more than Henry needs the show, and it's probably going to flop after Henry leaves, and Lauren and her team of writers only have themselves to blame. I don't blame Henry for leaving, Netflix should've fired the writers instead.

It's a crazy situation for sure. It makes little sense to me.
