So a fan met Stephenie Meyer at signing yesterday and she told them how every book she wrote is based on a certain book.
Twilight = Pride and Prejudice
New Moon = Romeo and Juliet
Eclipse = Wuthering Heights
And forth book in the series will be Midsummer Night's Dream.
Sounds cool.
There could be a lot of shenanigans in book 4.

Finished!! I want to start over and read them again, but my daughter (who could possibly be the worlds slowest reader!) has just started Twilight. Could be months (unless when she goes back to school this weekend, I 'forget' to pack the book ) But then I've been pushing her to read anything other than Girlfriend magazine for months, so I'm not about to discourage her

Could have been that they disliked each other at first, which turned into a reluctant friendship, then love? Maybe just similarities like that.

Alice is adorable Laughed at the part when she was bouncing up and down on the car, saying "Please, please, please, please, please!"

Ah thanks for that. I was noticing how Stephenie parrallels each of her books to classic, but I couldn't remember what the one in Twilight was... only that it was by Jane Austen. I wonder what book Breaking Dawn will parrallel with.

But they never hated each other. Maybe she didn't try to go with the main line from P&P (Mr. Darcy and Lizzie) and went with the storyline for Jane.. but even then I can't see it.

Yeah I also can't see Pride & Prejudice as Twlight, maybe a small small very small concept of it, but not so much. I don't think Mr.Darcy was a vampire.
