Well it has to take hard work to make something as bad as Lost Tales.

I finally got to watch Babylon 5: The Lost Tales movie tonight and i must say, very happy with what i saw. It was great to be back in the Babylon 5 universe again with something new after the show has been off the air for so long. I think i'm going to start watching the series again (DVD), really got the itch now Side note, anyone check out the myspace page? They have a lot of wallpapers, clips, icons, etc. Pretty cool

Still haven't seen Lost Tales, but I'm looking forward to it (but then, while I didn't like 'em as much as the original series, I actually enjoyed both Crusade and Legend of the Rangers ).

So, we have one negative and one positive comment. Anyone else see it yet?

The lameness of Lost Tales wasn't just normal lameness, it was an incredible go-out-of-your-way level of lameness. I think it's an insult to the fans to put out something like that.

Yeah, but now you're getting into B movie fanaticism....the kind where it's so lame, you have to see it just to see it. It's like a trainwreck, you want to look away, you just can't.

I don't see that. More like it was so lame it's not worth seeing. Particularly seeing as you have to buy the dvd to see it.

I haven't seen Lost Tales yet, still don't know when its going to be released here yet, but with all shows i'll wait to actuallly see it first before making a judgement on it.

I also found my old B5 screen saver the other day..forgot that i had it.

Was this as bad as "Legend of the Rangers" or worse?

Haven't seen Lost Tales and it was somewhat of a surprise to me when I got the e-mail from Amazon.com about its release on DVD. Was this ever on TV? If so, when? If it was on the SciFi channel, I'm not surprised I missed it since I do not watch anything on that network anymore.

Claudia Christian was on the outs with JMS during the series? Do tell. I was not aware of this.

Three awesome episodes, each one more thrilling than the previous one. And Delenn's speeches in "Severed Dreams" sent chills down my spine. JMS wasn't great at doing dialogue, but his monologues for strong female characters kicked ass. Between those two by Delenn and Ivanova's "I am Death Incarnate...God sent me" speech in "BtDatL"... *shivers*

What sets the series apart from anything else that came after it, is that the series is really a literary masterpiece. It has all the elements of a great piece of literature, and I think that a lot of people (even fans) don't realize that. The use of conflict, foreshadowing, irony, character and how Londo and G'Kar are two of the greatest characters ever in any genre (because they are at the same time the most static and dynamic characters on the show), are what make it so.

E7, it was a straight to DVD, though i would guess, given enough time, SciFi will probably air it.

It's two stories, one lochley story and one sheridan/galen story. I would put it on part with LOTR...though Sum would put it below.
