Yeah, that's my tiny problem too. He & Matt want to do good for the city but Fisk's way of how he wants it better is a bit twisted. I think what he did to his dad still has psychological effects on him.

It still does. See the way he murders everyone... that's insanely, similar to how he killed his father. It's really twisted, but politically speaking it kinda reminds me some people who now are postulating to be president in my country and what they say compared to what they do (secretly, of course) or what they intend to do, is something very, very twisted. Maybe the comics/tv show are trying to show that face of politics in some way with his character .

Oh wow. I never thought of it this way but this is a good way of putting it. Of course we are not supposed to agree on why Fisk wants to better the city and his own way of getting that done is twisted in every sense. He wanted to do good by "helping" the people and being all philanthropic but we all know that he's a criminal and is turning out to be power-hungery.

Perhaps being in prison he'd think differently and that would corrupt his mind more and make him more evil than he already is?

Maybe he was trying to become in a powerful man so then he'd be able to do something better for his city on his hands... but wait, what? What would he do? It's interesting because he showed himself on tv or the news to be publicly known by the citizens (as some people who are involved in politics usually do ) and he made a speech from his perspective, what he wants for the city, how he sees it. Man, this makes me remind a lot of some politicians from my country . However, he didn't intend to become in the mayor of the city (am I right?) so then, why would he do that? It's like there was some plan he had and it's pretty clear that Matt ruined it up very quickly. I think it's late to see how he'd be working in the city as a "good man" after what happened in the season finale, so sadly, we won't be able to explore that part of his character. It's still interesting how it's presented this villain, this big bad, a man with enough power to not be exposed to the public domain as a dangerous man who's working and gaining money illegally. They also showed us how much enemies can have a powerful man like him, how he can lose his partners for little mistakes and how a supposed strong man emotionally can become in a weak man by falling in love in someone else. Yes, he's definitely a very interesting character.

All of this of course will be an interesting catalyst for his revenge on DD. Obviously he's the reason why Fisk is in jail.
