Nick wasn't on the ep. He was attending a conference or something like that. It's a memorable episode for all the G&S shipper but also for the depth level of feelings involved. Am I the only pessimistic one, who considered the Grissom's speach as a "I couldn't do it/I gave up on her b/c love scares the hell out of me" and therefore thinks that ,no matter how many time he will go and hold her hand, there's no future for them? I got this feeling the first time I watched a video from Butterflied. Then I watched the ep in O.V and finally watched it dubbed (they dub it here). Every time I got this feeling in the gutts that not only he gave up but also she kinda gave up. To me, her sad look at the end was like "ok. no chances. I'll have to get over it and move on". __________________

Not only are they not the only potential couple, but there's a huge chance that there will be no couples on CSI. I mean, it's not like Gilmore Girls where people will scream if Luke and Lorelai don't get together since CSI is about forensics (and personal storylines-like romance is not important to the show).

I just decided to check out this ep (aka the most memorable gsr ep) and see everyones reaction to it.
Loved reading it. ( this is when I know I really don't want to study). And Tina was already posting here. (and being all excited about gsr) __________________

Holy smokes! This thread is 10 years old! This was a really good episode as it introduced the audience to Grissom's true feelings about Sara. While it has always been there and we knew it, TPTB finally made it come to light and it was nice to see. It was also the tipping point for Catherine finding out about it.

It's crazy that it was ten years ago. I remember it so well. I was so psyched over it, I mean at the time it was a bittersweet episode cos it was basically Grissom saying that "he couldn't do it" as he put it, but it was so out there (at the time) for CSI to actually directly handle emotional issues. I don't think they'd ever been so direct about it and so it was such a huge episode. For Grissom fans definitely (don't think we'd seen him this vulnerable ever, even during the hearing loss episodes), for GSR fans (definite confirmation that we weren't imagining all the hints and little things and that he liked her and wanted to be with her, but was afraid), for Sara fans (her having to deal with seeing someone look just like her being dead was huge and Jorja really nailed it) and for grissom and cath fans cos their friendship really came out in this episode... you could see Catherine was really reading the situation and toally knew what was up and wanted to help her friend.
The fact that 10 years later I can still write such a huge thing on it, is the reason why this is one of my fav eps and why David Rambo is one of my fav (if not my fav) writer for csi. This was his first episode and it was amazing and I pretty much liked all the ones he wroter from here on. (it helps that he clearly really, really writers grissom well and understood gsr and wrote a lot for them. he should come back and fix them ) __________________

Decided I'm going to watch this episode tonight. Have nothing else to do and everyone is asleep, so perfect time to watch it.

It's been years since I've seen it as well. I think not watching the show from the beginning kind of I don't know. I don't want to say ruined, maybe spoiled the GSR relationship for me since I knew they would end up together, but even then, this episode just shows that there is something there, and Grissom is finally admitting how he feels. It was just great seeing it again.

Whatever may have happened to gsr later on, Butterflied will always be perfect!
I really need to rewatch. I actually never thought they'd go there. I remember sometime during season 6 I gave up hope... I just thought that they'd waited to long and that they had given up on going there. And then Way to go happened __________________
