I think he would have been able to know about the meetings with Holtz. He would've have found something wrong with Wes... even if he wasn't 100% sure what it was, he would've realized something was off and that he was hiding something.

Yeah, he would have known the Holtz stuff, but probably not where that was going to go. They seemed to change what his powers were, because in season 2 it was all about putting people on their paths, but we never really saw that later on
