Me too. I still love watching him and his relationship with Buffy, I will never drink that bs koolaid. I'm glad Buffy gave their relationship a chance.

Riley probably suffers from coming on right after Angel.

It also didn't help that the first few episodes started with Buffy/Parker.

I had a spuffy fan posting hate on one of my Riley gifsets the others day, had to block them. When people act like that, it just makes me want to make more content for him

It also shows how insecure they are (just like when some lie about Riley and their relationship) Riley will always be better than the vampire that tried to kill Buffy many times, stalked her, obsessed about her, pretended a mannequin was her, stole her panties, was happy and excited he could hit her, tried to rape her, etc. Riley somehow being worse than Spike will always be some Twilight Zone bs.

Both Spike & Angel did worse things to Buffy than Riley ever did imo, so I don't get how people who ship her with either of them can try & get up on their high horse about Riley

Thank you! I thought it was ridiculously hypocritical and delusional then, and still do 20 years later. Riley did NOTHING to warrant the crazy hatred towards him, but people keep making every excuse under the sun to excuse Spike for almost raping Buffy and all the other abuse he put her through. Yuck. Then again, it still happens now. People bash healthy relationships and gush over the abusive ones. WTF? I'm just glad on this site people aren't as vicious over Riley or lie about their relationship anymore.

I personally feel that people can feel the way they want to about ship... and unfortunately some characters/ships are just disliked and it pretty much is what it is. in saying that, I dislike when fans who hate a ship/character go under gifsets/artwork/videos of that character/ship just to be hateful or dislike it... it’s like really?! I don’t care for Angel/Cordy as a pairing romantically so I won’t go searching for fan videos of them just to click a dislike button. I don’t have time to be searching for couples/characters I hate. I can say the same for all fanbases. If you like Bangel and hate Spuffy, why talk about Spuffy 24/7, it’s like you are more obsessed than the actual fans. Same for Spuffy to Bangel. Just appreciate your couple/character. I won’t ever go on the Cangel thread to talk about how rushed romantically it happened... I very much loved their friendship.

I love Spuffy and I will ALWAYS love Spuffy, ain’t nothing changing that. Lol however I didn’t hate Riley or hate Buffy/Riley, even if I didn’t really ship them.... I don’t get why they are hat hated but people can hate who they want to unfortunately.

I agree there, I've never understood people that go to threads or music videos of a couple they hate just to bash them. It makes no sense and shows they are more obsessive than their fans, but it also just shows how threatened they are by the couple. I've never gone to things for couples I hate.

I actually wish that we could've gotten more friendship scenes with Willow and Riley. I really enjoyed their scenes in the beginning of season 4.
