Isn’t it a bit ridiculous that all it takes for a vampire is to fall on some chopsticks and they are gone?

I can't really think of many. I wish a slayer didn't have to die for a new one to be called, but thankfully Chosen fixed that lol. The only other one is I wish they did more werewolf lore outside of Oz, but he's still the best werewolf on TV IMO!

Buffy was always at heart a satirical show, thus its "rules of the universe" were never meant to be taken too seriously. And notice how much harder it is to stake important vampires like Spike and Angel and how they survive sunlight better. The writers do whatever suits the story.

Joss was very into flexibility. He had a clear view that how things worked was less important than the emotional effect.

we can always explain inconsistencies away if necessary. Like how much sun affects them depends on age, strenght at the time etc.
