I love Easy A. I feel in love with Emma Stone It was really better than i expected and really wasn't like the typical teen comedy.
really not typical at all and yet still fun. Proof that they can make a movie aimed at teens that grownups can watch too and without treating the audience like they're morons.

I think partly it was because of the changes in the main cast and partly because of the writing. Both the new characters and the new actors weren't as great as the original ones.

I've seen something from her Cabaret too. A totally different Sally if compared to the others I've seen.

When Lily told me I should watch it, I thought she had cracked but I was surprised. It's not pretending to be more than it is but there are interesting themes and the acting is pretty good. Emma Stone in particular, knocked me out. I wasn't expecting it. She's really got a quality to her that you don't find in most supposed "actresses" her age.

I know. She really is great indeed. I've seen she's in a new movie with Allison Janney, Viola Davis and a lot of other good people and the plot seems interesting too. As for the movie, the themes are interesting indeed and the comedy writing is really good. It's not lame, but witty. It even managed to make me think someone from Gossip Girl can be decent!

It's very upbeat and light but there is a lot going on underneath about our society and the way we communicate with each other, especially in the new era of "communication" and "social networking" that actually reduce communication more than it enhances it.

and it's a relief to see them so fun together because they were not fun at all in Blind Date.
I haven't watched that. I think.

I fell a little for her too. But I think it's mainly because of her hair.

yes! I was really expecting to hate it considering I dislike pretty much every teen movie but I really liked Easy A and Emma Stone is amazing (one of the reasons why I'm looking forward Crazy, Stupid, Love)

omg! she's amazing I can't believe I haven't seen much of her work :O and now I can only think of Nine, that crappy movie. What a waste of talents :/

Yeah I remember reading somewhere that the network wanted younger actors and younger "themes", meaning cute and stupid.

I think Ness has some highlights somewhere. I'll ask her.

She's a legend! and seeing her onstage was a highlight! Even for such a small number.

The Help. Great great cast. Allison, Davis, Sissy Spacek, Dallas Howard...

You'd remember it. Very indie and very dark overall. It has a light tone for most of the movie though and then it veers off. Great movie though. Very small budget. Tucci directed it.

And she went blonde for Spiderman

As usual.

Then, nope, I haven't seen that.

Well, the thing is, Emma is really a blonde. Judd Apatow made her dye her hair red and he was so right!

Really? Well he was right on that. She looks striking as a redhead. As a blonde... meh.

It's a really good movie, despite what the reviews might indicate. Tragic but touching.

I watched 2 movies this week and they both sucked. I need to get some more

Small Town Murder Songs and it's a shame because Martha Plimpton and Peter Stormare are great but the movie is a Fargo wannabe and totally pointless and of no interest.

and Neds. Also a shame because I loved the Magdalene Sisters. I am not a big fan of boys coming of age movies so maybe that's why I thought it was really boring. It looks like other people liked it so it could be only me.

What have you been watching these days? (besides ER )

I haven't seen those but your thoughts + IMDB ratings, I don't think I'll watch it

nothing ER 24/7. But I think I'll watch We Hot American Summer tomorrow since I'll probably be done with ER seasons I want to watch today

Not recommended. I distrust IMDB ratings though. They used to be a good indicator (even though the majority isn't always right) but now it's studio plants and fanboys and fangirls rating things and it means nothing anymore when it's good. And when it's not, just reading the reviews and the posts on the board gives you an idea of the level of people voting

Let me know what you think. The cast alone makes the movie worth seeing but I haven't had time to try it yet.

I'm watching the Big Sleep right now. Sometimes, it's no use chasing after new movies when you have good old ones lying around

I will yes, the cast is amazing!
(I missed a "t" on the title)

awww for sure and you usually end up much more satisfied than if you watched a new movie

often yes, sadly
But I'm cursed with an excellent memory so I usually know movies by heart after a few runs already. I have to stop watching them for a while if I want to enjoy them again.

well, I have a terrible memory (nowadays because when I was younger I used to remember everything) so it usually feels new. Although movies are easier to remember than tv shows so if I watch them twice I probably will remember most scenes

I also want to watch Monty Python tomorrow, I can't believe I still haven't seen any of their movies :/

really? Wow

Which one are you trying first? My favorites are Life of Brian and Holy Grail. So so funny. I used not to like them and to wonder why everyone thought it was so funny and then I grew up
