Maybe he doesn't really care? I don't see him doing even bad/flop movies. He rarely do something.

Well he's been kept busy standing around on set in TGW, looking at JM act and it's been only a short time since the show ended.
I'm guessing he's looking for his next project and he's trying to make it a good one

Oh my God, it was a torture to watch him being so wasted! I mean the show was good for him in many ways, but it was like they never valued him enough. Come on, not even when Josh Charles left they gave him a chance to become the leading man (yeah, the prison arc was good but once it ended they put Cary in the yesterday's news again) and they had to bring a new love interests to fiill the void. Not even in the last season they thought they needed to come up with something good for him and the character. Yeah, still bitter about it.

Anyway he's really selective when it comes to pick a project.

You're coming off of Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life as well as your seven-season run on The Good Wife. What are your thoughts on what you'd like to do next? Or maybe what you wouldn’t want to do? How have these two shows and experiences impacted what you're looking for in a role going forward? I've gotten some interesting offers that just haven't quite lined up. I've been grateful for those offers, but I'm just being specific about what I want to do. In terms of that, great material with great people in great places.… For me, that's kind of what I'm looking for. It always comes down to when I read that script, if I'm going to be heartbroken if I don't get that role, I know I'm headed in the right direction. So it's really that gut feeling of reading the character and the material and then looking at who are the people associated with this, and if it is a TV show, what are the themes moving forward, how many episodes is it, where is it shot – a lot of things come into play. First and foremost, it's about reading that story and looking at that character and if it's something I feel in my gut that I have to do this. It just takes that one that you're going after, whether that's a TV series or whether it's a guest-star arc or a movie. It's not something in terms of the medium where I'm specific or how large the role is or anything like that; those things at this particular point aren't important to me. It's more about, again, that material, that character.

Hell yes! I'm so happy he's getting some press! TGW and CBS had no idea what they were wasting

He's the most interesting to listen right now. Very thoughtful and well-spoken. He's not just a cute face, that's for sure! And I would hire Matt in heartbeat to promote anything because he can sell everything.

Yeah, he was always too good for that CW show, but he needs a job not to comeback. He should use his CBS connections and get a pilot. Though, I think he'll be better on cable.

I hope for something on cable. He's getting load of exposure and publicity right now so I hope he'll get more interesting offers.

Indeed. I thought for sure we'd at least get more Diane and Cary time but nope. We moved on to the revolving door of love interests for Alicia

At the time I was a bit disappointed that he was pitched as the villain a lot but you know what? It was good for Matt to stretch a bit and it was way better than what he got in later seasons

Well the stuff is a lot meatier and I like his scenes here more then I did in S1... so I like the rewatch so far!

The writers just needed him as an antagonist again... for some reason. He wasn't Will, that's why they should have tried harder with Diane. It could have been interesting to see her getting used to working with him.

Damn, that still makes me wish he was on the spin-off even though I'm glad for Matt that he isn't.

yeah Titus and Matt had some really nice scenes though I liked how the dynamic changed to Peter/Cary as well
