Did you see my post on how sad I think the movie is? Like I can’t believe he dies. My dad kind of laughs when I go all Empath because he believes that was the only way the movie could end. It made sense. The ending is so sad though! Natalie Wood is drop dead gorgeous. Still can’t believe most likely she was murdered.

My sister’s family absolutely loved the second one and my one niece wants to get the music so she can listen to it while working out and playing soccer. They are going to watch the original sometime in the near future. They didn’t think they would like the original just because of being so young. They wanted to jump in and watch the second one first. They absolutely loved it! Like I said, my one niece is after the music.

My dad and I watched the original last night as mentioned and I can’t believe how every single song though is so well known and so good. It’s a great movie. There’s literally not one song that I don’t know of. The singing is phenomenal. So if you think the singing/music is better in the second one, wow. We will watch hopefully late afternoon early evening!

It's incredibly sad. It's a modern version of Romeo and Juliette.

I think you'll like the new Maria as much as Natalie Wood. The new Maria sings all of her songs....beautiful voice. She got the part when she 16 and in HS.

Regarding the music....I watched the new episode last weekend with Chris and Julia who had never seen the original. Julia kept saying, "THis song is from this movie?! This song is from this movie?!" The songs are iconic, but most people don't realize where they are from. Love the music!
Wait to you hear the new Tony's voice. He is both a singer and a dancer.. Very talented.

Did Natalie sing all of hers? We weren’t sure?

Julia is so right.

How do you compare new Tony to old Tony?

No. Natalie wood is not a singer. Her voice was dubbed by actress Marni Nixon.

Oh man, I have to tell my dad!

That’s amazing about the 16 year old.

My dad questioned it. He’s like I never thought Natalie was a singer. I’m like maybe it’s not her. LOL.

So obviously back then she got the part because she was beautiful and an excellent actress.

Yes the songs are brilliant. Many you haven’t heard in years but the second you hear them you’re like… pure good!
