I haven't been here for a while and I just noticed this thread, maybe I'll write more often now.

01) When did you first start watching Everwood?
In October or November 2005 when the show started in Germany.
02) What made you first start watching?
Honestly, I have no idea. I remember that I read a very short article about the show in a TV Guide and maybe I thought that the plot sounded interesting or I was just bored at that time (all episodes were aired in the afternoon). All I know is that I was hooked after a few episodes although I hadn't heard anything about Everwood before that time.
03) Favorite season and why did you love this season so much?
That's Season 2. I love all the Ephram/Madison stuff (despite the fact that she destroyed the whole Season 3 for me later on) and especially the last few episodes of the season. I'm happy with pretty much all the characters, the storylines and the whole feeling of this year. Maybe there was a bit too much drama with Amy but that doesn't bother me too much.
04) Rank the seasons, your favorite to your least favorite:
Season 2, Season 4, Season 1, Season 3
05) Favorite character and why do you like this character?
Ephram. He's just a funny and cool guy, I can't really say why I like him so much. His character reminds me a bit of myself because I'm also a little shy and quiet and it takes time until I open up to people so maybe that's the reason.
06) Least favorite character and why don't you like this character?
Amanda Heyes. I hate everything about her, she's annoying, she's boring and in my opinon she has no chemistry with Andy at all. I just can't stand her.
07) Favorite storyline of all time is:
Ephram and Madison in Season 2. I really enjoy every scene with these two.
08) Least Favorite storyline of all time:
Maybe you can already guess; it's the whole Andy/Amanda relationship. God, I hate these parts so much and I fast forward them most of the time when I watch these episodes.
09) Favorite romantic couple/s and why:
Can't really decide between Ephram/Madison and Ephram/Amy.
10) Least favorite romantic couple/s and why:
Andy and Amanda, again...
11) Are you currently watching the show in rerunland?
No.
12) If we would have had a season 5, what storylines were you the most interested in following?
I'd have really liked it to see Andy and Nina as an actual couple and not just as friends and neighbours. It would've been also interesting to see if Bright and Hannah would have got back together again.
13) If you could tell the CW one thing regarding their decision not to take Everwood, what would you tell them?
I don't really know, this decision still makes me too angry when I think about it although it's been a few years. May I#d ask them if it really had been that difficult to give the show at least one last year because you can't really say that the CW has a lot of quality shows...
14) Best looking actor?
Don't know, maybe Chris Pratt or Gregory Smith
15) Best looking actress?
Sarah Lancaster, she's absolutely great.
16) Are you satisfied with the Series Finale?
Yeah, I was surprised how well everything was led to an end. Maybe some things were a bit rushed at the end (Amy's jealousy, the baby for Rose or Stephanie [did that character made any sense at all? She was just stupid)] but all in all I loved it, especially the last panorama view of Everwood with the main title playing in the background.
17) Favorite episode of all time?
That's difficult. Without too much thinking about it I'd say maybe the episode where Ephram and Madison finally break up and Ephram comes to her house to say goodbye forever. For me that's one of the most emotional scenes of the whole show.
18) Most talented actor?
Maybe Tom Amandes, I love how he plays Harold. Most of the time he's so extremely funny but on the other hand he plays his more serious parts very convincing.
19) Most talented actress?
Sarah Lancaster again but maybe I can't see this very objectively.
20) If you could explain in a few sentences to someone who has never seen the show WHY they should tune in and watch, what would you say?
Everwood seems to be just another boring drama show with a well-known plot but it's got so much more. The actors are brilliant, the storylines are very well written most of the time and most of the characters are very authentic. But the greatest thing I think is the whole atmosphere and the scenery which you can't have in many other TV shows. The Los Angeles setting in most other shows is so boring in comparison to that.

Seraph87, I agree with most of your answers. It's nice to see someone else who didn't mind Madison. I would pick Amy as being better looking, however.

The episode in which Ephram and Madison said goodbye was also one of my favorites...sad...but beautiful. I especially liked Irv's narration in the end.

Stephanie....I think that the only reason that she was on the show was to have someone to make Amy jealous and to give her a reason to realize that she still loved Ephram. I think that she was also on the show to annoy us!

Hee! I do think the babysitter thing makes all the difference, though, heh.

Good to hear from you, Seraph. Quite an interesting past couple of days here with the Madison support (and the revelation of Madisons in our midst ). I didn't mind the character or pairing myself at the time, though I have come to appreciate it less over the years (and after a stint a couple of years ago teaching kids Ephram's age while I was just a little over Madison's age -- that certainly made me look at the age difference in a new light). I did really like the fact that the show was willing to give Ephram a significant love interest who wasn't Amy, though, and that they didn't dismiss the relationship's importance simply because of her non-Amyness. Of course, that all went haywire after S2, but at the time...

I'm sensing a trend here. Maybe I should start hitting on 16-year-olds.

And that goes for any of the new posters. We're really easy going, so if you have any thoughts on the show, no matter what we're babbling about, just go ahead and post it!

Looks like we'll have to revive the Ephram/Madison thread, hee. In fact, it has now been revived!

Thought I'd bump this up again since we've got some new posters () and this is a great thread for new posters--and old ones, who haven't done it.

Just went back and read thru the last page of postings, and I just wanted to say that even after rewatching (most of) Season 2, Linda is still just a very 'meh' character to me. I don't even know how to describe it, she just comes across to me as a ditzy teen who's soooooo enlightened and stuff (/channeling inner valley girl) that I can't take her seriously.

I think most of our adult characters come off as ditzy teens at times. Hee. No, I really agreed with your take the first time I watched S2 and she was a big part of why I disliked the season that first time I saw it. Every time I watch the season, though, I like her more. I can't really explain why either. Linda, apparently, is unexplainable.

Do you think Marcia Cross has anything to do with what you're not liking, or is it all in the writing of the character?

I really just have to think it's a combination of both. Not a big fan of the actress, and she doesn't do anything (to me) to really sell any sort of genuine earnestness in the beliefs of the character of Linda, so it just comes across as Linda is a person who is ready to jump on anything, and "Eastern medicine" and "Eastern religion" just happens to be what she's into right now.

01) When did you first start watching Everwood?

November 2005, when it first came onto television in the UK. I was at home ill at that time, part of 3 months stuck at home, and this show that I'd never heard of just reached out to me. Watched the 2nd and 3rd series when they aired in the summer of '06, found some clips online and that was it.

02) What made you first start watching?

Everwood has the ability of being able to transport you to another world, for an hour at least. It pulls you in through the beauty of the location, the strength of its storylines and the genuineness of its characters; and the fact that it feels real. For characters in some dramas, you couldn't imagine them being real people. With Everwood, you have to remind yourself that they're not.

03) Favorite season and why did you love this season so much?

Four. For me personally that year, 2005-6 was a really good year for me, so that probably helps. But it was more than that. For me it was the culmination of the previous 3 years - everything just sort of came together. Part of it I think is because eveyone's just that little bit more grown up; older and (supposedly) wiser. Every character grows and becomes a stronger and better person through the year. Even the characters that I didn't like so much.

04) Rank the seasons, your favorite to your least favorite:

4, 1, 3, 2

05) Favorite character and why do you like this character?

Ephram Brown. When I first started watching S1, it was the fact that he was the same age as me and that he played piano (like myself) that pulled me towards his character. And that he'd moved to a new town where everything was so alien to him, something which had happened to me and that I could relate with. His growth was pretty amazing to watch. He starts out S1 as this kid with a load of teenage angst and resentment towards his father; but by S4 he's this young man who's worked through his problems, decided what he wants to do with his life and now turns to his father for advice. His relationships with others are something that
stands out too; the relationship he has with Andy is one of the most important things on the show, but also his friendship with Bright, his adoration for his sister and his constant relationship with Amy, no matter what stage of their journey they were at. You could throw Nina and Edna into that as well.

06) Least favorite character and why don't you like this character?

Madison. But I've come to the conclusion that each character had a purpose on the show. I mean, Colin and Laynie, Tommy and Madison, Reid and Stephanie, they were all obstacles that Ephram and Amy had to overcome. And they needed to overcome them. Same with Julia, Linda, Amanda and Jake for Nina and Andy. Those characters were needed to get them to Foreverwood.

07) Favorite storyline of all time is:

Ephram and Andy. One of the original taglines for the show was It's somewhere between father and son, and they were right. They both needed it, and Andy tried so damn hard to make that work, and (eventually) it did. So many good storylines though.

08) Least Favorite storyline of all time:

Toss up between Andy/Amanda and Madison pregnancy. Both reasonably obvious choices I guess.

09) Favorite romantic couple/s and why:

Ephram and Amy. I'm a sucker for a romance, especially one with a happy ending. Those two just worked. Irv/Edna, Harold/Rose, Bright/Hannah... so many other good ones.

10) Least favorite romantic couple/s and why:

Andy/Amanda. Unlike say Amy/Tommy or Ephram/Madison, it didn't make any difference to the progression of the show or characters. It didn't have any purpose, apart from making Andy really dislikable.

11) Are you currently watching the show in rerunland?

In bits and pieces, yes.

12) If we would have had a season 5, what storylines were you the most interested in following?

Ephram/Amy's progression, now they've finally made it, what's next for them?

Andy/Nina living under one roof, and how that affects Delia, Sam and to a certain extent Ephram as well.

Bright/Hannah; what's next for the Ketchup Kids?

Edna/Harold/Rose all under one roof; how the baby affects Harold and Rose and how Harold and Edna find living together. Quite hilarious, I'd imagine.

Ephram/Kyle; how Kyle's dealing with things and how Ephram's helping Kyle helps his own growth as a person.

13) If you could tell the CW one thing regarding their decision not to take Everwood, what would you tell them?

You had something really special guys, something that I still think is one of the best written television show I've ever seen, and you let it go. What a shame.

14) Best looking actor?

Greg Smith.

15) Best looking actress?

Emily VanCamp.

16) Are you satisfied with the Series Finale?

Yes. Everything just comes together, and at the end eveyone's happy. If you want an example of how to do a Series Finale where everything's resolved, Look no further than Foreverwood.

17) Favorite episode of all time?

I would say Foreverwood, but I'm actually gonna go for Goodbye Love. I know that it's a very sad episode, but the fact that all these characters were connected throught their love and admiration for this one man is something that I think is wonderful. Harold's eulogy for Irv is moving, and the scenes between Ephram/Amy, Bright/Hannah, and Ephram/Nina (complete with flashbacks) are brilliant. And there's the Andy/Eugene scene, and then Edna finally breaking down with Eva Cassidy's version of Fields of Gold playing in the background... yeah. That episode sums up Everwood so well.

18) Most talented actor?

Treat Williams, Gregory Smith or Tom Amandes. All three of them severely underrated.

19) Most talented actress?

Emily VanCamp. Her character had to deal with so much, and she played it beautifully.

20) If you could explain in a few sentences to someone who has never seen the show WHY they should tune in and watch, what would you say?

Just... watch it. You might not understand fully what's going on, you might not know who all the characters are, but it'll still be possible to get hooked on it. Believe me. I did.

totaca, I so enjoyed reading your answers. I happen to agree with all of your thoughts. The Andy/Ephram relationship was also my favorite part of the show.. Season 4 was my favorite....Ephram and his piano...need I say it?
I believe that your least favorite couples and least favorite storylines are most everyone's least favorite.
I do have to add that Amanda was my least favorite person...not Madison. I felt that she had a part in Ephram's growth. I don't believe that Amanda had a part in anyone's growth!

Those were great answers. S4 was a great season as it was a confluence of the other 3 seasons. Yes,I could think of a few choice 4 letter words to tell the CW(CrapWatch)and Ostroff for letting Everwood go. There will never be another show like Everwood,IMO.

Niiice. I think that's why we get so upset when the characters are obviously making stupid choices!

Really agreed with your choice of "Goodbye, Love" and ALL your S5 wants too. There was so much to see still.

01) When did you first start watching Everwood?
I first started watching Everwood April 2011... my brother and I just ended it a few days ago : (

02) What made you first start watching?
My brother's insistence ^_^ It's funny, he always raved about Friday Night Lights and Everwood and I didn't think I'd warm to either; now, once I wrapped FNL, I loved it and decided to give Everwood and shot and, well.. here I am!

03) Favorite season and why did you love this season so much?
I absolutely love the whole series because I think there's a tremendous build that occurs beautifully over the span of those four years, but storyline-wise is a tie between S1 and S4.. it's sort of the beginning and closing of a ring.

04) Rank the seasons, your favorite to your least favorite:
S1
S4
S2
S3

05) Favorite character and why do you like this character?
Oh God, this is tough only because I can find something relatable in each character... ok, um... I would have to say Edna because she's a tough cookie, but she has a vulnerable interior. Plus, she has some of the best lines in the series : )

06) Least favorite character and why don't you like this character?
Amanda. I had a queasy feeling that something would develop between Amanda and Andy, and once that feeling was confirmed, ugh... I also hated the turn that his character took because of her. Completely useless.

07) Favorite storyline of all time is:
Maybe because it's fresh in my mind, but I really loved Ephram's storyline with Kyle. It matures Ephram so much and he evolves into someone who doesn't, as he puts it, "save people, but helps them save themselves." His character becomes so much more grounded because of that experience. I also liked Amy's storyline season 2 - I thought Emily's acting was heartbreaking... the emotional toll Colin's death took on her and thereby everyone else was truly heartwrenching and had me feeling all the things she must've been feeling as well.

08) Least Favorite storyline of all time:
Again, Andy/Amanda. What was Berlanti thinking? I understand Andy isn't perfect, but my goodness - it all went against his code of honor and what made him so endearing.

09) Favorite romantic couple/s and why:
Ephram and Amy of course. Those two underwent so much both together and apart. I also love Andy and Nina and how it all played out.

10) Least favorite romantic couple/s and why:
Andy and Amanda... singing a familiar tune, ey?

11) Are you currently watching the show in rerunland?
DVD land!

12) If we would have had a season 5, what storylines were you the most interested in following?
I heard Delia was supposed to be given more time to bloom, so that would've been interesting. She's such a beautiful character; I almost feel like she operates as the heart of the show - so young and innocent, yet wise and perceptive.

13) If you could tell the CW one thing regarding their decision not to take Everwood, what would you tell them?
I'm happy the show ended when it did.

14) Best looking actor?
Gregory Smith.

15) Best looking actress?
Emily VanCamp.

16) Are you satisfied with the Series Finale?
Absolutely.

17) Favorite episode of all time?
I'll get back to this.

18) Most talented actor?
Treat Williams

19) Most talented actress?
Emily VanCamp

20) If you could explain in a few sentences to someone who has never seen the show WHY they should tune in and watch, what would you say?
You won't see another show with quite as much heart and integrity as this one.
