A fitting end for Joey would be Dawson tells her to grow up and when she returns Pacey is gone.
I mean just look at this Love Bites promo, it was clearly meant to be the end of P/J https://youtu.be/poibMRdUD1M

You’re right, TWICE PJ were written as shattered. I seriously wonder what happened. Did Williamson feel guilty, it might have been guilt and Stupin embraced it knowing it made zero sense but still arrogant enough to take it since he considered PJ his pairing.

It was absolutely meant to be the end of Pacey and Joey.

What's really a joke though is how Eddie was supposed to be this great love for Joey, combining Dawson and Pacey, and she even went all the way across the country during a school year to see him, but Eddie was a nothing character with a chip on his shoulder for no reason, mainly because Oliver Hudson couldn't act worth a damn, so the whole thing ended up being a fiasco.

Subjective I guess.

I don't think she can hold a candle to Emily VanCamp and Michelle Williams and the critical acclaim both have received while Holmes has never received any critical acclaim for anything she's ever been in (and instead, really negative reviews) has always been interesting to me.

I thought that Katie Holmes was good in Season One (the scene with her father at the Prison Gate was incredible) but after that, I felt that the increasing focus on her character (we used to call the show the Joey Potter hour, and we used to joke about how Joey became the girl that no mere mortal could resist) went to her head and she did little more than mug for the camera, especially when she was with Pacey, but like jediseermic said, it's all subjective.

I also have seen that Michelle Williams went on to become an acclaimed award winning actress while Katie Holmes has mostly become tabloid fodder after marrying and divorcing Tom Cruise, and she hasn't had anywhere near the career success that Michelle Williams has had.

To be fair though, none of the other actors have had the career success that Michelle Williams has had.

She won an Emmy award and has been nominated for Academy awards like 5 times. She was great in Greatest Showman and Manchester By The Sea among many others. Check out her IMDB. The only truly successful film Katie was in post creek was Batman begins.

Thanks for this. Katie got ripped apart for her portrayal in Batman begins too.

Emily VanCamp was talked about extensively for S2 Amy Depression storyline. She received so much feedback. On any other network she would have been nominated and even won an Emmy.

Katie never has reached the level of Michelle Williams or the words Emily has received from critics. Apples to oranges, big time.

Michelle Williams won the Primetime Emmy Award and the Golden Globe Award for Best Actress in a Miniseries for her portrayal of Gwen Verdon in the Miniseries Fosse/Verdon. She also did an incredible job in the movie My Week with Marilyn where she played Marilyn Monroe and she won the Golden Globe Award for her work in that movie. She was also very good in the movie Oz The Great and Powerful.

Here's a list of the awards and nominations that she's received:

Oz The Great and Powerful wasn't a good movie, but Michelle Williams did a good job in it.

I've followed Michelle Williams' career ever since her Dawson's Creek days as even then I could tell what a good actress she was.

Not even The Greatest Showman with Huge Jackman? It was a massive popular movie

I really wish Michelle would have been featured more on Dawson’s Creek. She is so talented. It reminds me of a star player on the basketball team having to sit out games and watch the team lose knowing the team would win if on the court with them.

Besides her S5 thing with Dawson they didn’t even give her any good love interests

Right? Not one. It was deliberate, too.
