I hate how so many episodes show Andy and Amanda as possibly ending the affair only for it not to happen. The audience is left exhausted wondering over and over again when the nightmare will end. We're afraid to go back to sleep in case of experiencing another nightmare! Quote:

What bothers me the most about Andy engaging in this disgusting affair putting aside the professional ethics of the situation...
He knows Julia cheated on him and what it felt like. He believes he deserved the cheating, too. What about John? Is Andy thinking about how he was cheated on and he even thought he deserved it? So now he's crossing lines as a professional, is the cheater and is doing this to a neurologically impaired man, his past patient who deserved none of this? How utterly evil are his actions right now. |

I think Berlanti and Rina put way too much effort into making the pregnancy reveal big time dramatic. The character of Andy (affair) and even Ephram and Amy (lack of scenes, band lie) were sacrificed as a result. |

I like how you call Andy obsessed... that's exactly what it was. Punishment and obsession... notice during this time period he isn't worried about the Madison pregnancy, he's not even actively thinking about it... he's doing far worse to distract instead of just telling Ephram the truth. Quote:

The Amy/Hannah friendship was really good and I even think during this time period Hannah was rubbing off on Bright in a positive way too. Quote:

All I know is during this rewatch I’m a lot more enthusiastic about Nina having a relationship with Jake. She really deserves this. We can rip apart Jake especially for the later part of the series but at the end of the day he is still 100 times better than Amanda. Nina needed someone to date after her divorce and before Andy, too. Jake filled this in-between relationship just fine. He might have stayed too long and it sucks that he was the one who had to tell Nina how she really felt but I blame that part on the writers. They wanted to keep it nice and dramatic until the very end. In addition, Nina and Jake and ultimately the Nina and Andy love story was affected the most due to the stupid merger. |

While eagerly awaiting more Everwood rewatch I still think this episode is one of the best of the series for Ephram/Amy/Bright/Hannah. It was just so good from start to finish. When you take every single scene involving one or more in this episode, it plays out like a mini-movie. There is so much going on: Hannah's annoyance with Bright noticing every girl but her, Ephram and Amy tension and working through stuff, Bright and Ephram having heart to hearts, bonding again, Hannah and Amy bonding tightly, Hannah revealing her dad's illness to Bright and Ephram, recognizing they are just teenagers who had to grow up really quickly due to real life events out of their control.
