They definitely had what I'd consider to be the greatest TV kiss ever

The spiraling camera, Weiss comically trying to intervene, Sydney and Vaughn completely wrapped up in each other for a prolonged amount of time Sheer excellence.



I also think the season and a half of build-up made a difference. The audience were yearning for them to get together

Having Sydney and Vaughn get intimate for the first time juxtaposed with the image of SD-6 getting torn in half ... A really great depiction of how their worlds combined in that moment and they were finally able to do whatever they wanted.

Well said. Yeah, we were definitely tuning in to watch Syd & Vaughn well after this kiss. It was actually really nice to get to experience them being more of a real couple who go through real life issues and interferences rather than driving us nuts for 10 years for one kiss. *ugh, Mulder and Scully … still lol*

Whenever I start to rewatch this show, it always fizzles out around Season 3 when Sydney and Vaughn also fizzled out. Granted, we had moments after that but their chemistry was so good in the first two seasons.

My babies. Where do I even begin with these two?!

I think my favorite season for them is season 1. Even though they weren’t romantically involved, their chemistry was through the roof. I wish the show would have kept them apart longer because the yearning is what made me love them so much. You could tell Vaughn had a thing for her from the beginning - even if it was just physical. You could tell how much he grew to admire her work and really care about her.

I was happy they got together but hated how short lived it was. I also really loved season 3 for them even though they had so many obstacles. I’m someone who loves angst. I despised Lauren so much even before I knew she was a traitor because you could tell how unhappy Vaughn was with her. I would have been fine with Sydney and Vaughn just being friends but that was going to be almost impossible if Lauren was a good guy. I can’t believe she killed her father to get Vaughn back.

I found it kind of strange how Sydney and Vaughn never really verbally expressed their love for one another until the last season, but maybe I’m wrong? I know Vartan was supposed to be killed off and the fans raged so they brought him back, right? I’m glad Vaughn found out Sydney was pregnant before he died but I really hated how the writers made her go through the whole pregnancy alone. Why did they kill off his character? I know him and Jen are friends but I did see rumors that she was the reason he left.

They are by far my favorite couple in television history (and I have A LOT! ) and everything about their relationship was just so perfect, even when it wasn’t perfect!

I’m not sure the real reason why Vaughn was “killed off”/Michael left in the 5th/last season, but being around Jen and her being pregnant with Ben’s kid might have been hard for him because I know he truly loved her dearly. I’m glad they have remained friends and he came back for the last episodes of the season, but it really was such a shame that Vaughn wasn’t there for Sydney during her first pregnancy (we know he was when she was pregnant with Baby Jack ).

They’re not my favorite TV couple but I do love them a lot. I kinda wish Jen and Michael didn’t date because I think when they broke up, it kind of impacted their chemistry.
