. Australia is fortunate in that we are on a tectonic plate not on a fault line (our neighbours like New Zealand & Indonesia are on the fault line) so we are relatively safe. It is more NZ we hear about & support. So our earthquakes are formed differently & not as dangerous. But this one was felt quite far from where it happened. Even Tasmania (the island at the bottom of the country) reported they felt it despite the water between. When I was probably about 10 I felt one. It made my lamp fall off my bedside as it had been sitting on the edge (it fell on my bed so no damage). Thankfully that is my only earthquake story & I would love it to remain that way
