No matter where you go, weather and the planet has its fun with you.

Hurricanes, tornadoes, earthquakes, tsunami, avalanches, volcanoes.

Take your pick.

LilMouse 08-07-2020 07:36 PM

I think an avalanche does the least amount of damage.

Tell that to the people that ate each other in the Andes. I'll take an earthquake. Those aren't on an annual basis like clockwork like tornadoes and hurricanes/storms are. I've lived my whole life thus far without being in a big one that destroyed anything in my area.

Lord in heaven!

But avalanches damage a smaller area and not one so heavily populated.

:fingers_crossed: that doesn't change

Ever see the movie based on that true story?

I saw it as a kid. :gone:

BehrItAll 08-08-2020 06:31 PM

Never saw it.

 May that continue.

You are watching some very odd things as a child.

Climbing a snowcapped mountain is sooooo not interesting to me. I can't understand why they wanted to be there.

S.A.S.H.A. 08-09-2020 10:07 PM

That's odd? It was a huge story since it really happened. I've always seen movies that are based on true stories, like Not Without My Daughter.

They didn't want to be there, btw. Their commercial airplane crashed in the Andes. ;)

It just seems so adult for a child (and scary)

Ooops, didn't know this. I don't remember this story irl.

Eh, I was always mature for my age. My mother had the talk with me about priests before I started first grade at a private Catholic school since I was a tomboy and had short hair. I was always told about the real world and grew up watching the evening news every night since childhood. So this movie didn't scare me. It did amaze me, though, the lengths some people would go to survive. :)

I rather die than eat a person.

There really weren't any animals around to hunt?

BehrItAll 08-11-2020 06:40 PM

Esp. since it is so unsanitary to eat people.

LilMouse 08-11-2020 07:23 PM

If you don't die on the mountain, you'll die later.

I'm sure they would have gone that route if possible.

People are animals, so no different than eating a hunted animal, aside from the creepy cannibal thing...

I wonder if she's related to Ewan at all.
