yeah! I dont think chuck/blair did anything wrong to begin with but I do think as viewers, the stuff we saw post 1x10 (like Chuck looking disgusted when Nate was talking about him and Blair having sex in 1x12 and watching nate/blair kiss in 1x13) was supposed to redeem him as far as him being a bad friend to Nate by sleeping with his ex-girlfriend was concerned

Exactly. Minus the pilot I think Chuck is who he is, and redeeming himself is lame. But its often like the bad boy falling in love for the first time.

AGREED SO MUCH. I do not want the redemption of Chuck OR Blair. I do not want them to be 'better people' through their relationships with Vanessa or Dan or whoever. That's why CB are so wonderfully unique. The "villains" of the show are always 'saved' by "the good guys"

Ugh I hate that. I want them to grow but they have to stay who they are at their core. They don't need to be saved by the brooklyn kids.

As my sig clearly states, Brooklyn sucks (just on the show, not irl. hee)

And ITA about wanting CB to grow but not change. Though I think they've already shown lots of development like in 2x08 when they realised they'd never work if they kept playing games

I thought the last line of this fic was really beautiful and totally fitting for this thread (It's CB, btw)
