They were two girls who came from very different worlds. Bo Dennis is a succubus, a Fae creature who feeds on sexual energy. Lauren Lewis is a human doctor and owned by the Ash, the leader of the Light Fae. Bo had run away from home at the age of seventeen, after accidentally killing her first lover, and she'd always been unaware of the Fae world and who she was. Lauren grew up as a regular human, in an upper middle class family, but was drawn into the world of the Fae. It was fate that brought them together. From the first moment they met, there was instant chemistry between them. Neither of them could have predicted just how i m p o r t a n t they would end up becoming to each other. They are s t a r - c r o s s e d lovers. Fae are not supposed to fall in love with humans, but Bo did anyway. Lauren was enchanted by Bo from the first moment they met and was willing to do anything to protect her. Theirs was a slow burn, but it was strong; everyone could see that they had feelings for each other. Despite whatever setbacks may come their way, Bo and Lauren are strong enough to face them together.

Bo Dennis is a succubus, a mythological creature who uses sex to feed, heal, and kill. Raised as a human by strict adoptive parents, she was taught that sex of any kind was evil. At age 17, when Bo's internal need for sexual energy, or chi, became too strong, she was unable to control her power, and accidentally killed her first lover. Traumatized, Bo left town, vowing to never succumb to her urges again -- until she met the Fae, her ancient, long-warring kin. Fae police detective Dyson and human doctor L a u r e n helped Bo understand and feed her inborn needs, but control her appetites so that she can live a "normal" life -- sparking a love triangle. Rejecting the Fae rule that she choose between the Light and Dark Fae factions, Bo found a steadfast ally in Kenzi, a human criminal with a good heart and fierce sense of loyalty. Together with Kenzi, Bo uses her supernatural abilities to help Fae and human alike, while unraveling the continuing mystery of her origins.

Lauren Lewis is a talented human doctor who grew up very differently than Bo. Coming from an upper middle class household, she is much more cultured and graceful than the less refined B o. While working in Africa, Lauren unknowingly treated and cured a plague-ridden Fae tribe. Her girlfriend at the time, Nadia, was cursed and fell into a coma, leading the Ash to offer Lauren a job working for the Light Fae, in exchange for her being allowed to find a cure for Nadia. Lauren is regarded as the Ash's property; she works as a scientist and studies life forms, like Bo, that many humans will never know even exist. Lauren offers her medical knowledge to Bo to help control her hungers and protect her from the Fae punishments. Lauren has come to rely on Bo and seeks her out for protection against the new Ash.

Oh, I looked up the type of Fae that's being executed ... some interesting information ...

In Persian mythology, peris are descended from fallen angels who have been denied paradise until they have done penance. Also in the same work, Peris were in the host that Kaiumers gathered to fight to defend against the usurper, (similar to Irish legendary help from supernatural beings). In the same work,in the section named "RUSTEM AND SOHRAB", the hero is befriended by beings who lull and entrap him in ways similar to those of fairy beings. One of these, a princess, is referred to as "Peri-faced" because she is wearing a veil, so the term Peri may include a secondary meaning of disguise or being hidden. Peris were the target of a lower level of evil beings called divs, who persecuted them by locking them in iron cages. This persecution was brought about by, as the divs perceived it, the peris' lack of sufficient self-esteem to join the rebellion against good.

It's interesting if you look up "divs" (or as Wiki calls them, "Daeva"):

the daevas are noxious creatures that promote chaos and disorder. In later tradition and folklore, the dēws (Zoroastrian Middle Persian; New Persian divs) are personifications of every imaginable evil.

The LG writers DO put a lot of thought into the Fae creatures on the show, so I wonder if the Big Bad is a Daeva? That would explain why such a big deal was made about the Peris being executed.

I actually quite liked the episode. I think Bo/Ciara have better chemistry than Bo/Dyson. Kenzi's interrogation was hilarious. It annoys me that she wants Bo to fight for Dyson though.

But the end - poor Lauren. When Bo said that the fae girl deserves some punishment, because she killed humans I was like - really, bitch? And why didn't she ask to see Lauren?

Yeah. Nobody even mentioned her. I mean she told Bo she absolutely loves her, wtf is Bo's problem? And I didn't even think she was acting annoying with Dyson or about DC so really... And why she was like: OMG Ash you're so awesome! He keeps Lauren locked in (even if she doesn't know she's in the dungeon) and treats her like a piece of property. Sometimes I just want to punch Bo in the face.
