I’m guessing from this deleted scene that Lana wasn’t very happy in her marriage.

I wish they kept that deleted scene. It ties in nicely to what Lex said to her last epi about he wouldn't know what he'd do if she betrayed him. It also shows Lionel intent as well.

What happened with Lana was way worse then being miserable in her marriage. She was terrified for her life. She was abused emotionally and scared because she knew what he was capable of.... more like a battered wife. Clark was right to be worried about her.
