1x01 "The Resurrection"

Jefferson Pierce (Cress Williams) is a man wrestling with a secret. As the father of Anissa (Nafessa Williams) and Jennifer (China Ann McClain), and principal of a charter high school that also serves as a safe-haven for young people in a neighborhood overrun by gang violence, he is a hero in his community. Nine years ago, Pierce was a hero of a different sort. Gifted with the superhuman power to harness and control electricity, he used those powers to keep his hometown streets safe as the masked vigilante Black Lightning, but he left the Superhero days behind. Almost a decade later, Pierce's crime-fighting days are long behind him... or so he thought.

Do you know if the show will be shown on Netflix outside of the US?

ETA:

Checked it, Netflix in Poland will start showing the episodes with a weekly delay. So we'll get the Pilot in a week.

That's good it'll only be a week delay on Netlfix . It looks like it'll be the same in Australia. Unfortunately I don't & can't have Netflix so won't get to enjoy the show until it hopefully appears on DVD but I never had hopes up to expect to see it any time soon

Because I've got a monthly data limit of 10GB (& one episode would use up 1GB)

Oh yeah, that's understandable. I watched an episode of Scorpion when I was on a long bus ride last year and it ate up several hundred MB of data.

Data limits are evil. There needs to be a way to make videos not eat up so much MBs of data too

No Canadian channel picked up this series; but all the other CW series got picked up by CTV up here. Why did they, Citytv, Global, or any of our cable stations skip this series? I watched it off the CW channel and it was great! I hope Team Arrow, Team Flash, Kara Danvers, and the Legends make it there soon. Jefferson needs all the help he can get

I think Netflix got exclusive rights on all markets outside of the US, so that's probably the reason why CTV is not showing it.

This was a good beginning episode.
I loved seeing the present and the why of the past, like why has it been 9 years since Jefferson Pierce has been MIA as Black Lighting and how he's been wanted for all that time.
And it appeared that him as Black Lighting was to dangerous since he would always come home with blood.

I also liked that scene with Jefferson and the police officers... the first one in the beginning because it sadly shows the real life racism that black men deal with when it comes to misidentified and straight up racism. And the fact he had to deal with that in front of his daughter was sad... and you could see how much Jefferson wanted to use his lighting ability because of the light in his eyes but he stopped himself from doing harm and everyone parted.

But, the second confrontation with different police officers, the whole thing went so much differently. And I actually loved seeing them get electriced. lol

Overall, my favorite character was definitely Anissa Pierce. I just loved how mature she was, her great fighting and overprotective skills. She was just a pretty awesome character to me.

And credit both of the Pierce sisters for knowing how to fight!!! I loved that!

Overall it was a solid Pilot and I can't wait to see more.
