Never trust a criminal until you have to...

Raymond "Red" Reddington, a former government agent, attended the United States Naval Academy graduating top of his class at the age of 24 and was being groomed for Admiral when he disappeared while coming home to visit his family for Christmas in 1990. 4 years later, he resurfaced, selling classified documents to the enemy. Over the next 20 years he built a syndicate of contacts: Spies, thieves, smugglers,
drug dealers, people smugglers, human traffickers, arms dealers, forgers, hackers, mercenaries, and assassins. Eventually he went from just selling secrets to also starting wars, toppling governments and influencing geo-politics to suit his needs. He became known as "The Concierge of Crime" due to his ability to arrange deals between the various black market factions. He willfully surrenders to the FBI and provides information on a roster of criminals that he refers to as "The Blacklist." Dangerous criminals who are so careful to avoid leaving any traces behind that the FBI has not even detected their existence. His ethics are somewhat murky, and he espouses the use of some crimes in the service of "the greater good".
He uses his arrangement with the FBI to pursue his own secret agenda.

I still can't believe that Cooper said that to Red clearly without thinking what it would feel like for Red. He has feelings too. He is not cold hearted.

Same here... How could they not be a little bit empathetic with Red? I don't understand that. After everything. Does the bad really overweight the good that Red has done? He made it clear so many times that he cares about the task force. I know they never got to see him like we did but still...

Fore some people all the bad that he did does outweigh all the good and in real life, if I knew somebody like Red, I wouldn't want to be around that person but for this show, I love him!

But honestly, I don't know if in real life I really wouldn't want to be around him... It really would depend. If I only knew what the task force member know and what they have seen, it would be the same for me. But we as viewers got inside on Red, that none of the others (besides maybe Dembe) has on the show...

Loved this episode. The look on his face when Liz thanked him. Priceless. He conveys so much with just a look. I thought he had tears in his eyes.

And when that man insulted Dembe. If looks could kill!!! Red was about to blow the mission.
