I just noticed the gif set in the OP, and one of the gifs made me wonder something. Do you think Klaus ever felt the allure of the Petrova doppelgänger when he saw/was with Elena?

Imagine if the reason he showed up in Mystic Falls had nothing to do with his desire to break his curse. Would there have been a dynamic? It's an intriguing thought.

No... I felt that Klaus was the ONLY one who didn't. lol Everyone else was weak by their past feelings to another doppelganger, whereas Klaus was not. lol
Elijah was into Elena. lol
Klaus, not so much....

I just didn't see it, in less I missed a scene.

Actually I felt he was... or probably I was seeing it with shipper glasses since I dropped Elena/Salvatores the moment he was introduced. lol

He dropped Katherine like a bad habit when it came to Elena. lol
I actually think Elijah loved Katherine but he got over her pretty quickly.
Katherine loved Elijah more than he ever loved her from what was shown on screen.

Because Elijah is so secretive, it was difficult to see how he felt about Elena, but he cared about her STRONGLY.

I'll certainly have it in he back of my mind when I rewatch associated to both Original Brothers

I felt you are semi right related to Elijah not seeing as shipper even if I don't mind it - I felt it was very protective and that type of connection - not like the love he had of Tatia|Kateria where I felt he never stopped loving Katernia

If Elena was the kind of person who wanted every guy to be in love with her, then it would have been an intriguing thought. Why didn't Klaus fall for her too? How did he resist her? In an AU where Elena were that person, I can imagine that that would have drawn her to him.

I think there was a little something there between Elena and Elijah too. It was low-key something-something, but I definitely felt that vibe in some of their scenes.
