I'm currently rewatching DA with a friend who's never seen it before. A few days ago we had this scene again .. and whereas she was like "Omg, they're getting back together. Look at them! Their chemistry is simply amazing!" I just nodded, all the pain being stuck in my chest, already waiting for bursting out in S3.

Wow. I would LOVE to watch with a friend who knows nothing about what will happen in S3. I actually want to go back to that feeling, not knowing what was gonna happen because it was just joy back then.

A lot of the fans were really angry about Matthew's death. I mean they could be one of those epic couples you know? The ones that sail off into the sunset and live happily ever after.

Yeah. Me, too. I never thought anything like that would ever happen .. not in a million years. Of course, Dan wanted to leave the show and so on, but just regardless of this fact, it's tremendously awful. And I agree, rewatching it with someone who doesn't know what's gonna happen is just the best thing to do.

It's just frustrating because it was a well-written love story (imo) and had a lot of potential to be one of those stories that will stay with you. Even if his death was the only "logical" solution, of course that's not ideal. __________________

After their long journey they finally got together and started a new life as a married couple. Matthew and Mary must've been so happy back then and it's just a terrible shame what happened to Matthew in the end. I mean, there you are, holding your newborn child in your arms - and you die afterwards. (It's the same with Sybil, they both died after their children were born.)
