Welcome to the discussion thread for Adele's third album. Currently there is very little news about this album but Ingrid and I thought it would be a good idea to have a place where we can discuss the album and any news which is released. So if you have any thoughts on what you think will happen or what you would like to see on this album this is the place to discuss them! Any news will be posted in this thread and one of us will update the OP with it

News and Speculation

• Adele is working with Ryan Tedder of OneRepublic (Source).
• Adele will be writing songs with William Orbit in 2014, possibly for the new album (Source).
• Album due out in October and will hopefully be launched with comeback concert at London’s Royal Albert Hall (Source).
• Adele has been writing songs with Diane Warren (Source).

Here's a video I just found of Ryan Tedder talking about why he loves working with Adele, he talks a bit about the recording process for Adele's third album but also said he didn't want to give anything away.

It is understandable why he cannot say anything. I am glad she is writing with someone who can at least confirm that he is working with her and she is working on the third album though. Such a shame he cannot spill the beans on anything related to the album though. I do love what he had to say about her, it is clear he is passionate about her music.

I hope that this album has more of a happier feel to it. She is such a bright and funny person but some of her lyrics can be quite dark. I do not mind that and love her songs of course but it would be nice to get a happy album now especially since presumably she has some happiness in her life right now with Simon and her son. I am still hoping for a song inspired by her son

I loved what he said about Adele too, that was very sweet

It is a shame he couldn't really say anything about the album, but at the same time that's understandable. I wonder if she's working with the songwriters Ryan mentioned or if they are just examples from her previous albums

I wouldn't mind a few happier songs, a song inspired by her song would be great

I did wonder the same thing when he started listing other songwriters, but he probably was just listing ones he (and/or she) has worked with in the past.

Do you think that it will sound completely different from her first two albums because she would have grown a little in getting a little older and becoming a mother as well as having this time off?

That's more likely, I doubt he was allowed to give away who Adele's writing with

It's hard to say, I don't think it'll be very different, but it's possible some of the songs are a bit happier/inspired by other things she's experienced now she's a mom

It is doubtful that he could but maybe he slipped up by accident

. If she liked working with some of those people in the past then I would not be surprised if she at least tried to see if she could work with them again.

That is how I feel too.

According to here there are some rumoured songs/song titles for the album, however rumours may not be right. The songs are:

Never Tear Us Apart (INXS cover)
Skyfall (as a hidden or bonus track)
Run Away (was cut from either 19 or 21)
Haunted Skies (was cut from 21)
Waiting For You (was cut from 21)
Saviour (was cut from 21)

Personally unless she loves the songs or they fit the theme of the new album (the reason stated about why Saviour was cut is because it did not fit the theme of 21) I doubt she will include a cut song. Especially since some of them have similarities to her other songs (E.G. Turning Tables, I'll Be Waiting), although being on a different album that would be less confusing.

They also have speculation about if the album will be named after her age or if it will have another name. The name they mention is 'Paradise' because of Adele's tattoo she got earlier this year.

Hmm that's a lot of songs that were cut from the previous albums. It's always possible of course, but I personally don't think these rumours are true

I wonder what the album title is going to be, I think naming it after her age again would be a little predictable, but as long as the title fits the theme of the album I'm fine with it

They are most likely just rumours, but the cover song may be true - providing she now feels she can make the vocals believable (her problem before which is why it was cut from 21).

If you read the link I was reading there are a lot of rumours and speculation about the album

. So while we have little news, we can however provide lots of speculation on what the album will have and be like

I agree about the title. A part of me feels if she continues using her age for the titles of her album it may become predictable but it could also be something she can be known for too. Like how Alfred Hitchcock always made a cameo appearance in his movies.

Speculation can be fun, but some of that just seems like wishful thinking

I think it could be interesting if she did a duet on the album, but on the other hand I don't know that I think it is likely & depending on how long of a break there is it may be nice to just get an album which is just Adele singing

I agree with both those points

It'll be interesting to see if she continues with it or not.

It most likely is just wishful thinking

.

I would love for her to do some duets but right now I just want an album of just her. On the other hand if she does do a duet on the album I would not complain over that either, it still is new music and it still is her singing.

Bonus tracks or at least more tracks than you normally get on an album would be wonderful. It would be a nice treat after having to wait for the album.

It will be interesting to see if she does continue the 'tradition'.

Exactly, hopefully it won't be long until we get new music, but you never know.
