I think they wouldn't go that far. However, I think she liked when he said "And mine!"

Yeah, I guess Lucrezia had been a bit overwhelmed in that scene. Of course, as soon as Cesare starts kissing her neck she starts doing that thing where she flutters her eyes closed again. "And mine" was pretty forceful on Cesare's part. Although I still would've preferred if they hadn't done that next to Alfonso's dead body.
Not to sound morbid or creepy, but I actually liked that Alfonso was next to them it added to the whole notion of how possessive Cesare was as her lover and protector. He was finally being open in front of other people about his romantic feelings for Lucrezia. It just felt like a welcome release

I love how in all the promo pics, Cesare and Lucrezia looked like a couple. He always looked like a protective boyfriend.

Hi, Gwen! Thanks for that pic! Yeah, he does look more like a boyfriend or a husband.

Well, they camera tried to avoid Alfonso during the love scene as much as possible and just focus on Lucrezia gazing at Cesare, but it's kind of difficult when Alfonso is right on top of her.

Yeah, like I said, I do wish that Cesare and Lucrezia's final scene on the show didn't have to have Alfonso's dead body lying next to them. I think he should've carried her to his bedroom and cleaned her off there. But I guess you liked him being there? Nah, it's not morbid or creepy, I just thought it was intrusive. I wanted a Cesare/Lucrezia moment that was just the two of them.

And it adds to the incestuous undertones, with Cesare staring threateningly at Juan who's on the other side

I still cringe at many parts of that scene, it felt as if they were trying to force us to feel sorry for Alfonso and I just couldn't do it She and Cesare were the IT couple from the very beginning "I shall never love another like I love you"

I see what you mean I think Neil Jordan was going for that Romeo and Juliet style of tragedy, reminding the audience that even though their love is at the heart of the show, Lucrezia is still technically married so she's still technically betraying Alfonso.

Was he staring at Juan in that scene? I don't remember what episode that pic is from.

I just cringe at Alfonso's hairy butt. I didn't need to see that. But yes, Lucrezia was all about Cesare.

Well, once Alfonso is dead it's not technically a betrayal. The only time Lucrezia betrayed Alfonso was when she slept with Cesare on her wedding night.

Yes he was I think it was just a general promo pic for Season 1 -

I could deal with that. It's just the fact that we're supposed to see it as this romantic union between husband and wife when in fact, it's disgusting because it's totally against Lucrezia's will and the only thing that's saving her in that moment is the knowledge that Cesare is watching over her.

Betrayal is an interesting word to use in terms of Cesare/Lucrezia. It's never really acknowledged if Cesare's wife knows of his cheating ways or his true feelings.

Oh, so it was a promotional pic. No wonder I didn't remember it. That probably foreshadowed season 2.

Yeah, I agree. This wasn't a romantic moment between a husband and wife, this was Lucrezia being used like a piece of meat in a political arrangement. And Alfonso never once respects his wife or defends her against his own family. Yeah, Cesare is the one constant that she relies on.

Well, at least Cesare's wife doesn't seem to mind that he's in love with someone else. She just wants his title and his child and she's content. She doesn't even wanna live in Rome. Man, where do women like this come from? I think he could've asked for Lucrezia to move in with them and Charlotte would've have minded.

Cesare's pained confession to her that he wanted to murder the guy for even suggesting such crude things about Lucrezia was unbelievably romantic and sad

I just remember thinking how awkward his intro to Charlotte was. A total rebound. Totally for political reasons and to try and distract himself from Lucrezia (which, as per usual, didn't work )

Who, Ferdinand, Alfonso's uncle? Yeah, that guy was a pig. Luckily, Micheletto took care of him. I really wanted Cesare to take that guy out for Lucrezia, though.

Yeah, but Charlotte was cool about everything. She was a lot better than Ursula. I actually liked Charlotte a lot.

Yes that guy what an absolute creep. Nothing okay with what he expected Lucrezia to do in such a public manner, and all to satisfy his ego

I wish Cesare had punched the guy afterwards. I think he held back simply due to not wanting to cause further tension for his father.

The Cesare/Ursula relationship weirded me out. It seemed like he went for the first unattainable woman who looked like Lucrezia That's why I couldn't take it seriously. He got a kick out of knowing that he shouldn't be with Ursula.

That relationship was just insignificant.

God, I hated that guy, Gwen. I was glad Micheletto fed him to the lampreys. I can only imagine what he looked like afterwards.

Yeah, too bad neither Lucrezia nor Cesare got to take care of that guy themselves.

Yeah, the Ursula thing just seemed like something that Cesare did to distract himself from Lucrezia, much like Lucrezia did with Paolo.

Micheletto was a creepy guy but an excellent servant to the Borgias so good on him for taking care of that situation I also loved seeing him care for Lucrezia's baby.

The Paolo relationship seemed very romanticized in Season 2, which was odd. Yes he was the baby daddy but he was also the reliable guy who she turned to because her marriage at the time sucked. He was a quiet guy who treated her well, but I never saw that going anywhere Too many differences.
