Day 1: Favorite Ark-Born Female Character

If I could describe Clarke Griffin in one word, it would be hardcore. This girl does not mess around.
She eats moral quandaries for breakfast and makes questionable decisions for the good of her people in
her sleep. And yeah, maybe a lot of those questionable decisions have terrible consequences, but
Clarke was still willing to make them. She's not perfect, but she is also strong and brave and selfless.
She sees good in people even when it’s hard to find. She forgives. She bears burdens no eighteen year old
should ever have to bear. She is incredibly flawed, but all of those flaws make her a better character.
The writers have been bold in having Clarke make some really dark decisions, and I really appreciate that
because it gives us so much to think about. And if I'm being honest, I know that I probably couldn't
do much better than Clarke if I were put in the same scenarios. And even when I'm yelling through my
screen at her I'm still rooting for her to find a way to be a better version of herself and I still want her
to find some sort of inner peace.

Day 1: Favourite Ark-born female character

Raven Reyes

I had trouble choosing between Raven and Clarke - both characters have amazing qualities but both frustrate me at times. I ultimately chose Raven because I feel like she's such a unique character and I connect with her.

Raven has saved the Delinquents butts more times than anyone else, and now has saved others as well. It's refreshing to see a confident female character on-screen, also she's really hot.

Her intelligence, bravery and loyalty are important qualities that her character brings to the table - as well, watching her struggle with a disability is emotional yet relevant to many people in real life.

She really has saved their butts so many times. I'm so glad they actually said that out loud in the finale.

I had a really tough time choosing between Clarke and Raven.
Don't get me wrong, I love Clarke to death, and I'd probably have made these two a tie, but I felt like that would be cheating.
Raven won out just because I don't think there's ever been a moment where I even doubted my love for Raven Reyes whatsoever.

I think the gifset I posted represents Raven perfectly.
Raven is, in one word, a fighter. She's been through so much, but I love how her disability isn't really portrayed as a weakness.
She defies her odds time and time again.
When she told Bellamy that she wasn't smart enough, I wanted to shake her.
She should never doubt herself because she's proven her worth to her friends, herself, and the audience time and time again.
The delinquents would be so lost without her.
I can't wait for her to develop even further in season five. Now, Jason and company...

Born on the Ark, but that says it all as far as her connection to the Arkadians seems to go

I just really relate to this character on so many freaking levels.
She had to grow up under the floor. Though not literally, that's what I had to do growing up. I couldn't be myself.
And then she grew into her own, she connected with someone and she became what she was always meant to be.
Even for as far as her mistakes go, I can relate - again, not literally

Her love for her brother - family being the most important thing in her life.
Almost every aspect of Octavia, every aspect of her character growth is something I can relate to, because I've lived it myself.

Though I can certainly see her faults and most definitely do not agree with every single things she does / has done, at the end of the day, my love for this character will probably just know no end.

Definitely. I love that the show . . . it doesn't just gloss over her disability. It's changed her life and changed her, and it's important to have that represented on TV. But her disability doesn't define her. She has plenty more abilities that make her who she is and make her AWESOME!

Paula, you chose the Octavia hair gifset! I was looking at it the other day. Look at how badass she looks in that first one on the second row!

Of course, your choice of Octavia is truly shocking.

It's awesome that you relate to the character, though. Even though she's quite an extreme character sometimes, when you really boil it down the fundamentals, her struggle to identify with people and figure out who she really is . . . that's something that so many people can relate to. It's important.
