I have a few ideas.

It's weird, the "You're too important to me" line resonated more to me than the family line and the hug. I don't know if anyone else feels that way. It also came across better in gifs, the scene itself didn't really capture me. Some of it felt hollow and forced?

I liked the “You’re too important to me” more. Mainly because I knew the “family” line was triggering 5x09 war flashbacks for a lot of people.

Truly. And I feel like if anyone should say the "You're my family and I lost sight of that," it should have been Bellamy.

I had not looked at it that way before. But yes, what WAS the point to cut straight from dancing flirting Clarke to Bellamy, if he WASN'T looking her way?

And someone made a point about the music playing the party. The lyrics saying save me before I die and it points to bellamy.

Good points, Kate and Adie. I feel like there’s just too many coincidences especially in this episode. The writer and director of the episode seem to ship Bellarke so that could also be why it felt more Bellarke centric.

I forgot to say ... the "You're too important to me" line was my favourite bit too. The family line definitely triggered some bad memories, in comparison. But I still want Bellamy to apologise to Clarke too, it's beginning to feel one sided to me.

I think we’re supposed to take Bellamy keeping his promise and bringing Madi back to her in 6x03 as him making amends. I love Bellamy, and I do think he ultimately did what needed to be done in 5x09, and I think the writers had Clarke do some ****ty, unnecessary stuff from 5x10-5x12. (I mean, even Eliza has been mentioning at cons that she felt like it was extreme and there could have been a better way.) But it’s strange how the writers have been painting her as completely in the wrong post-5x09. I don’t agree with her decisions in those episodes, but she still has a POV worth considering.

The family line from Bellamy in 5x09 didn’t upset me as much as it did others, and Bob explained it at his Conageddon panel exactly the way I interpreted it. But yes, the family line in this episode would have been better coming from him. But I’ll take it coming from her, too, since she ultimately was the one who left him behind.

That song in the party scene is so cool. I’ve been listening to it a lot. Didn’t catch the “save me” part of the lyrics somehow, but as I was listening, the whole “stuck underwater” part was making me think of what’s happened to Clarke now.

I would love it for Bellamy to make amends, either with Madi or by his role in uncovering that Clarke really isn't Clarke right now and help save her. And I agree, April ... I'm not a fan of how this season is painting Clarke as the bad guy because I don't think that she was, even if she clearly wasn't perfect and messed up a lot, in trying to keep herself and Madi safe. It's too one sided, and that's not really fair.

I feel like my lowest point as a Bellarke wasn't even Season 3, it was seeing Clarke leave Bellamy in the pit and Bellamy kind of manipulating Madi to his own benefit. It was so painful, so I feel like there's still some ways before they truly recover from that.

I agree, Sarah. That was the lowest point for me, too.

The show’s been painting Clarke as being in the wrong since 5x10 onward, so I can’t say I’m surprised. Though the good thing about it is that we do get to see Clarke apologize and actively seek and earn forgiveness. It’s not happening . . . off-screen. But it’s still strange to me, because even though I don’t agree with her actions in 5x09, I still could see where she was coming from. It’s as if the writers assumed no viewers would understand or sympathize with where she was coming from and felt the need to make things one-sided.

Agreed and what made it even worse is the teases at the beginning of the season (Clarke jealousy, Diyoza's comment) that they might be headed into romantic territory.

As far as we know, Diyoza still thinks Clarke is Bellamy’s girlfriend.
