Hey kids, welcome to the new thread. Less than a month away from the release of the movie. I can't wait. I'm seeing lots of people on campus walking around with different Twilight books. I think people are excited about the movie.

I know I am. I am very anxious to compare it to the book though.

I am too. I know it's going to be different, but the movie looks really good.

I'm usually not so excited about movies made from books, but the previews are amazing, and I know there will be differences, but I'm hoping I can overlook them!

I'm also hoping I can be okay with the changes - I saw in the trailer that when Edward saves her from Tyler's van that he jumps over her truck and runs away, which made me wonder if they were going to do the hospital scene, which I hope they do because for some reason I really like that scene! I've also heard that they've added some scenes, which I'm actually okay with, so as long as they didn't add scenes just to replace some other important ones from the book...

My thing overall is that the characters are what they are in the book, which from what I've seen is happening. I hate it when a movie made from a book has the characters doing things that not only aren't from the book but are also not congruent with their book character.

Yeah I don't mind different scenes, I just want them to stay true to character.

I'm with you on that.

I have to take my GRE on that Friday but I may very well go see it when I get done in order to relax and take my mind off the test since I won't get my scores back for weeks anyway. This whole, what happens after college, stuff, is really complicated.

So far, I think the trailer's look good and I'm pretty excited about the movie.

I hope it is. I mean, the first book was long, there's no way they can pack all of it into a less than two hour movie, but I hope they leave in a lot of the pivotal scenes that are really important in Bella and Edward's relationship.

I hope the whole thing isn't about the fight at the ballet studio, since that is what the commercials are making it out to be.

I think the conflict between Bella and James will be stronger in the movie than it was in the book. I expect the first few scenes, like the truck scene, to be in the first twenty minutes of the movie with at least the last 40 devoted to James tracking Bella and Edward trying to stop him, but it does look like there are some romantic scenes. Their first kiss, and I think they have the prom scene because I saw something in a trailer with Edward in a tux, and they have the baseball scene, which is nice. I also haven't seen anything about Jacob in the commercials but we know he's in there. I figure they'll have the campfire scene where he tells Bella about the vampire pact. We'll just have to find out.
