Well, I'm probably going to start Twilight tonight so I'll finally get to have my input into the conversation. Can't wait. I'll be back soon.

I read fic and I write fic.

What do you look for in a E/B fic?

I do but not much Edward/Bella fics. But, I'm sure you'll be able to find something that interests you here. It's a Edward/Bella LJ community and this is a mixed Twilight community.

I know there aren't many J/B shippers but if you are one and would like to join a J/B I'd suggest this one

We're Twilight fans, I think we can handle the sap. Thanks for the new thread!

I really like this fic. It takes place six months after Eclipse. She also has a Jasper/Alice story that I really love, if you're into that.

I love that fic. Actually I don't think I've heard of anyone disliking it. It's really sad though.

Yes, we can Which leads me to my next question, do ya'll think Edward's use or words like "my love" and such are him being sappy or him not adjusting to current day slang?

I just think it's the way he talks. I never considered "my love" to be current slang then again I'm not exactly up to date on current slang.

I always assumed he wasn't trying to be sappy he just wasn't adjusted to how we speak today and his use of what I consider cheesy words and endearments like "my love" was just him speaking in the way they when he was younger (younger? I don't know how to phrase it any other way).

I always thought "my love" was slang back then because it's used so often in older movies but I guess I shouldn't allow movies to dictate things like that.

And, I find it strange that I'm trying to find a reasoning behind something that I disliked so much about Edward.

I have a feeling that he will always speak like that. I can't imagine Edward speaking like the 17 year olds today. I don't think we will ever see him calling himself a pimp, bragging about how he tapped that, saying things like rox my sox off, or ZOMG!.

I wish was a little more subtle though, I always feel the urge to turn the page when Bella and him speak intimately.

A lot of people find the way Edward talks to be a bit too sappy or over-the-top for them. It doesn't bother me in the least bit, but then again current slang annoys me. I guess to each their own.

I don't mind it, sometimes. For some reason though, when I read it I can't get the idea of him being a victorian gothic vampire out of my head, and I don't know why, it's very strange.

Current day slang bothers me to no end, every other word is an eff this or eff that. They are all, "It was so [bleeping] unbelievable." And I'm like I would have grasped what you were saying without the cuss word.

I like the way Edward speaks. In fact, it was probably one of the first things I really liked about him. It's a nice change from the way a lot of guys (or at least the ones I know) speak in real life. The only time I thought it was a bit much was:

"Sleep, my Bella. Dream happy dreams. You are the only one who has ever touched my heart. It will always be yours. Sleep, my only love."

Whenever I read that part, I have to slow it up a bit. It sounds so much better in my head that way.
