Hyde never cared about school. He only started trying when the Formans took him in. Which is why I believe he probably would've flunked out of school if he was still living with Edna.

I think he would've flunked, too.

Then he would've gotten a full-time job doing some kind of grunt-work-- unless he was lucky enough to be taken under the wing of someone for an apprenticeship-like job.

Hyde didn't care about school until the Forman's took him in. I am glad they did, because Hyde really is smart.

If Point Place High had a class in music production or guitar or something he was interested in, maybe he would've worked hard at it.

My grade school did that every year, and you either had to be in the musical or part of the crew. Hyde would obviously opt for crew, and Kelso would try to be the star (but get relegated to tree number 2).

That's what Betsy's birth should've snapped him out of if his narcissism wasn't totally pathological. Oh, well.

I have to wonder what an older Hyde would get out of a friendship with a Kelso who didn't evolve -- at least a little bit.
