Brooke has my sympathies! I do think she is the one that get Kelso to change and grow up though.

Yes. I think Kelso actually falls in love with Brooke, whereas his love for Jackie is more about possession and memories and wanting to have sex (in season 1).

I think so too. I feel Kelso was more sincere and wanting to change with Brooke.

I just wish we'd gotten to know why he was initially so enamored with her. It wasn't the sex they had at the concert. By that point in his life, he'd had sex with so many people it couldn't be that. It also can't be that Brooke is supposedly the hottest woman he's ever seen. Something about their pre-sex interactions must have ignited a spark.

That's a good question. Maybe she was different than any other girl he had met before?

He must have at least felt connected to her in a way he hadn't been to any other girl. Otherwise, the only reason he "looked for her for weeks" is that he desperately wanted a repeat of their time in the stadium bathroom. He was obsessed with having sex and could get fixated on certain girls to do it with. Although, as we see with Laurie and Annette and learn from Jackie, he's just very annoying about it.

He seemed to really want to do good by her.

He did. Even though he also pushed his typically selfish, Kelso's-needs-come-before-all-else self at her. But she didn't take his crap, and he cared enough to develop respect for her. A new concept. Kelso recognizing that other people's needs and wants exist, have value, and might have just as much value as his own needs and wants and, sometimes, more.

I loved when he left the Christmas dance because he wanted to be with her. That is one of my favorite moments.

Yeah. It showed the shift that had occurred him. Spending time at a "boring" library, doing non-sexual activities with Brooke was more appealing to him than having a bunch of high school girls fawning all over him. I really do think Brooke is his first true love. Though he loved Jackie, he mistook lust and possessiveness and familiarity (among other things) for being in love with her.

It could've been deepened. Kelso becoming mature in contrast to Eric, let's say, could've been an interesting dynamic.
