I'm very sensitive to that writing trope, as someone who had a good friend become borderline obsessed with getting me to date him in high school and I just genuinely wasn't interested. I didn't dislike Seth, and what I do disagree with is that he gets writing ala Landry on FNL or George on GA- Seth was not always written as the victim, which is actually his saving grace with me, lol. However, I would agree that he's often obnoxious in SS.
I think we all know how I feel about the flack Marissa gets in RM, lol. __________________

Yeah, I agree that Seth was not always written as the victim. The writers usually had Seth be the one to mess things up in SS.
The Seth/Marissa shipper in me is a little defensive of Seth, lol. The people that let Seth have it on tumblr- I don't know how they feel about Ryan- but I don't really like the notion that Ryan is far superior to Seth. Yeah, Seth did some things that weren't really cool, but so did Ryan. I think they both had their strong points and weak points. I think at one point in the past, I might have said that I like the geeky guy/hot girl pairing, but I don't know, I kind of take that back, lol. The couples that I really loved don't really fit that description. I think Adam is what really makes Seth for me. I enjoy him as an actor and I think he's quite handsome. Perhaps if someone else had played Seth, I wouldn't really be interested in the idea of Seth/Marissa. |

I wonder if it depends on which female character you preferred, whether or not Seth or Ryan pissed you off more, lol. Or it could be that particular trope that seems to irritate so many people (granted, I think both of them got off on playing the victim card on occasion, it was just that Seth was the only one who ever got called out on it). Or it might be a belated reaction to the fact that Seth had a much more vocal fanbase at the time the show aired, as often happens on Tumblr too.
So, this was actually a birthday card for a poster on Tumblr, but I thought the coloring was gorgeous!  __________________

Both characters were disliked by a lot of people, lol. Just for the record, I like Dawson and I think James was very funny in Don't Trust the B in Apt 23. I never hated Dawson (except for those moments I hated everyone who was up Joey's ass) and I think James is hysterically funny (and also quite good at playing a villain), but I don't really see him being her type, lol. Dylan though, yes. Very much so.

I was looking around that tumblr and there was a gifset of the rap that Rachel Bilson made a while ago that had a little dig against Mischa in it. I heard about the rap, but I never actually saw it before. I wasn't aware that Rachel tore up a picture of Mischa  |
