Hello bunnies
Hannah Congrats on the Bob Morley board mod job Theresa I've been teaching 3/4 of my classes online for several years, so the move to full online isn't bad. Last semester it was because we switched right at Spring Break due to Covid. However, this semester, I've planned them full online from the start, so I hope it goes a bit smoother. I do save commute time, as it's a 30 minute drive to the university, and then I have to park and walk across campus. So I am saving myself 1.5 hours a day by working from home. I do miss seeing students in person, but I'm quite happy with full online right now with the Covid situation what it is. __________________

Hello bunnies
Hannah so are you working online from home due to Covid, too? Theresa I think it would be hard to teach elementary students online. College kids are fine, though! Good luck with the start of the new year. Are you back on campus the whole time? __________________

Carol, I do a mix. I still have to go to the office/to campus for work, though significantly less than usual. Any time I am not in the office I am doing work remotely. I usually am online all day, then go to the office for about 2 hours in the evening each day.

Hannah that sounds pretty flexible, though I'm not sure I'd want to go to the office most evenings. Of course, it's a drive for me.
I'm glad I have the flexibility to work from home this year. __________________

I walk to work...it's a nice 2 mile walk, I actually appreciate it. It gets me outside and gives me a work out.

Hannah that would be a nice walk.... unless it's raining I have a 30 minute drive and then another 15 minutes to find parking and walk across campus to my office. So I've saving 1.5 hours of total commute time by staying home. I'm all about that.
Theresa I can totally understand being a bit apprehensive. __________________

Yeah the rain is iffy on those days I need to walk in, though it doesn't matter much anymore.
I have a little update, I am sick. It is entirely plausible that it could be COVID considering my involvement on campus before our closure. My plan is to stay inside for the next 14 days and not expose anyone to myself. If it gets worse I'll call the health center to receive a test. So far I have had no fever, but I do have hot flashes, sweats, a sore throat/cough, and a bit of dizziness. |
