& even though it broke Peyton's heart because she was worried about losing Jake again, she still did everything he asked to help him

She felt so much better knowing that he was still close by and stuck true to his morals. They both knew that Jenny was at risk with Nikki, so he'd rather sacrifice his freedom than hand over his child

Yeah, & Jake being such a good father to Jenny was part of the reason that Peyton loved him so much

He lived up to every fantasy viewers have of the 'perfect' guy in a TV show. Great dad, kind person and loved his girlfriend very much. The show was crazy for throwing that away

To be fair, I think they wanted Bryan to stick around, but he chose a show called October Road instead

That's true, but given that Schwahn always spoke of himself as one of Bryan's best friends at the time and even did a season 2 episode commentary with him on the DVD, I'm just disgusted that they didn't allow Jeyton to have a more graceful ending than just regressing back with the whole 'Peyton sleeptalks Lucas next to Jake' plot twist.

You would think that he'd treat the character better, but nothing about Mark surprises me anymore

They did a joint commentary for episode 2x15 -- the episode where Jake and Peyton agree to "take it slow" because of their deep feelings for each other.

So much irony in Schwahn sitting through a romance-heavy Jeyton episode.

He acted all excited about watching their kiss scenes.

Bryan was brilliant though. "Hilarie was a biter" He said she really got into their kiss scenes on the bed.
