I just re-watched that scene from season 2 where he's in jail and they confess their love for each other for the first time.

Best-acted love declarations in the show. The way Peyton emotionally whispers it to him and he sounds so elated

Season 2 was my favorite season. And I find that hilarious, considering it had MANY flaws (the bland guy who dated Karen, Felix and his sister) but I feel in terms of relationships, the second season nailed it the best.

I also loved that Naley were split up. To me, that was a high school thing that should have been over the moment she chose her career over him. They got married too young and Nate's character was written terribly afterward, always having to do everything to please her even though Haley became this independent girl who didn't need him anymore.

Any first-time viewer who watches in chronological order and sees the Jeyton romance in season two will no doubt be shocked that they have her obsessed with Lucas again by the end of season 3.
