Spiderman 2: Spoiler's discusion thread

here's a thread for spoiler's discussions of Spiderman 2.

from what I hear, we meet a characters that we will be meeting later on in the spiderman sequals.... I'm interested on how we will see this play out... Like Harry.... In which he finds his fathers secret room with his costume and weapons at the end of the movie..... I'm interested to see the interaction between Harry and Peter in the next movie....

Good movie, but I liked the first one a lot better. Am I the only one?

I just got back from seeing it and I thought it was awesome. Spiderman was always my favorite superhero growing up next to the X-Men and this movie was just amazing. The ending was great ... it has an excellent lead into the next film.

I just saw it tonight, and I loved it so much! Tobey is MADE for this part, he was absolutely amazing. Kirsten Dunst was good, too, I loved Peter and Mary Jane, especially the scene where she comes to him in her wedding dress. And I loved that she knows he's Spider-man.

James Franco. Love him, great lead in to the next movie.

All the action was intense and great, Alfred Molina rocks my socks.

Ahhh, great actors, characters, such a brilliant movie. I loved it more than the first one, and I loved the first one a hella lot!

Agreed. All the actors did a great job in this movie. I loved the ending with Mary Jane and Peter. "Go get 'em, tiger." Aw. I'm such a sucker. And the part when Spidey/Peter is holding up the side of the building and he's telling Mary Jane he loves her ... that was great.

I don't even know if "brilliant" justifies it, though.

Throughout the entire movie people were cheering and clapping. The entire theatre loved it.

I just saw it yesterday. It was so awesome. I found myself closing my eyes at some parts because I was afraid of what Dr. Octopus would do with his little arm things.

It was great and a lot of action. It was funnier too.

I loved this movie. I think this movie ranks up there right there with Batman for me. Anyway I think my favorite part of the movie was when he after he stopped the train when he had his mask off, the people said they wouldn't tell them who he was and they tried to protect him being taken by Doc Ock.

You are not the only one. I liked the first one A WHOLE LOT better. This one was way too slow up until the train scene. There were some really great parts, especially the Doc Ock parts. Molina is a brilliant actor!
Now, what I'm about to say may offend some people, so be warned. I didn't think Tobey did a very good job. He doesn't know how to cry or make people feel his pain and angst. I felt that some of the more emotional scenes could've been done better and would have had a more powerful effect on me if done right, but to me, Tobey just didn't deliver. I did, however, love love love the train scene when the people were carrying him and just looking at him and saying how young he was and just admiring Spidey. That was cool!
Speaking of which, I think it was too early to reveal who Spidey really was! Now ALL the main characters know who he is! Why?

Okay, I think I've ranted enough. Overall, the movie was okay, but the first one was way better.

Oh man, oh man! S2 was just great. Romantic, tense, bitter, and hilarious! The first bit was a little slow, it seemed, but everything unfolded by the end. I love that everyone knows now, it takes some pressure off of Peter. The greatest thing was when everyone on the train was carrying him. My friend was whispering "he's crowd surfing! Wooo!" Does anyone else think that his Aunt knows? I don't know, but that speech was just too involved for her to not have realized it.
I was wondering if the movies were following the comic books or not. I'm dying to know what happens to Harry. It seemed like after he broke the mirror, he had showed strength against evil, but all that power he found...if Peter had to kill his best friend it would tear him up so much.
Does it even make a difference to Harry now that he knows his father was the Goblin? I'm going to have to wait another three years to find out!

I actually liked Tobey's performance on the film. Thankfully he was able to still do the role, despite the chronic back problems he experienced while trying to shoot the movie. Jake Gyllenhaal is a good actor, but if he had to play the role of Peter Parker it would have never worked.

The movies are pretty much following the comics perfectly. Which makes the ending of the movie fantastic. I won't say anything else, though.

I agree with Strifer, too. I think Tobey did a great job in the movie. And as much as I love Jake, I don't know if he'd have done as good as a job as Tobey.

Ah, I didn't know Jake Gyllenhaal would have been Spiderman.

Saw it yesterday, loved it, thought it was different from the first movie. I guess I do agree that it was a little slow and laboured at parts, but I'm pretty forgiving.

Hands down the best part of the movie was when MJ found out. When Spiderman was talking to Doc Ock, I forgot that MJ was there. So it as a pleasant surprise for me when she confronted him. How cute was he when he rushed over and saved her from the falling beam and he looks at her and says, "Hi"?

swoon

Think I'll have to catch it again tonight. Too much romance for my own good.

I feel the same way. Its not really possible that every person on that train would keep his identity a secret. That part was just kind of stupid to me, but I'm glad MJ found out...that was nice.
