Saw Series #1: I wanna play a game...
I just watched the trailer and it looks awesome. If you have any info you can post it here.
Try Yahoo for the trailer, FanForum refuses to let me link. Heres the synopsis: Suspense/Horror A young man named Adam (LEIGH WHANNELL) wakes to find himself chained to a rusty pipe inside a decrepit subterranean chamber. Chained to the opposite side of the room is another bewildered captive, Dr. Lawrence Gordon (CARY ELWES). Between them is a dead man lying in a pool of blood, holding a .38 in his hand. Neither man knows why he has been abducted; but instructions left on a microcassette order Dr. Gordon to kill Adam within eight hours. If he fails to do so, then both men will die, and Dr. Gordon's wife, Alison (MONICA POTTER), and his daughter will be killed. Recalling a recent murder investigation by a police detective named Tapp (DANNY GLOVER), Dr. Gordon realizes he and Adam are the next victims of a psychopathic genius known only as "Jigsaw." With only a few hours left to spare, they must unravel the elaborate puzzle of their fate in the midst of mounting terror. The killer has provided them with only a few clues and two handsaws - too weak to break their steel shackles, but strong enough to cut through flesh and bone. Looks great doesn't it? Theatres.
It actually was a film from 2003, but it's now only being released. Buzz has it that it's ACTUALLY scary. Not like lame scary. And it's got tons of gore and violence, so if you're into the psychological scare more than the physical one, you might not want to check this one out. |

i am downright scared of this movie , even from just watching the trailer. i have only heard good things about this movie, it even got good reviews from the Sundance screening. I cant wait to see it when it finally comes out on September 17th (hmm..is that the right date? )
From watching the trailer it made me wonder how far would you go to keep your life? Does anyone have any ideas what they would do for their own survival? I just hope that i would never be put in that position. anyways, some pics, decided not to put some of the creepier ones, 'cause i myself would get sick and naseous looking at it. I just read that this used to be NC-17 and that they had to edit it to get an R rating. I wonder how bad it was to get an NC-17 just from violence.
Heres more pictures: This thing squicks me sooo much. Clowns and dolls are the scariest things on the face of the Earth. O.K, clowns, dolls, and weird man/pig things are the scariest things on the face of the Earth. Last edited by Clash181; 09-12-2004 at 05:45 PM |

I mean, it looks really interesting, but I don't think I can take it. Signs nearly did me in! Perhaps I'll wait until it comes out on DVD so I can fastforward through it initially to get through it, then watch again once I know what's going to happen... |

For someone whose imagination makes her the mental equivalent of a 5 year old when it comes to scary things...I want to see this movie. I probably won't be sleeping night for like a week afterwards. But, I'll watch it. __________________

I seriously don't think I could handle this movie. I like scary movies and it sounds really cool, but all the blood and the freaky pig-things...I'd probably have a heart attack.

I already knew I was going to be scared as hell in this movie but after reading this review...I'm actually dreading it.
"Date: 25 January 2004 Summary: A movie that is fantastic because it is difficult to bear. "Saw" is a fantastic film. Not just for the brilliant cinematography, the thrilling, well written and disturbing plot. Not just for smashing editing and amazing use of sound and music to create the ultimate height of suspense. It is a fantastic film mainly because I hated to watch it and yet could not look away. "Saw" brought on feelings of horror, intense intrigue and at points near physical nausea. At times I was unsure whether I could make it through the rest of the film, as I watched ten to fifteen percent of the audience actually walk out during the showing. However, I was relieved to hear the gasps of dread and groans of horror from other audience members as they blended in with my own. "Saw" is truly the most vile and disturbing film that I can say I have ever personally viewed. The only possible comparison is if "Seven" had actually graphically shown the killings and all the other insinuated gruesome carnage. "Saw" is absolutely a film that I can say I loved to hate." |

OMG. I like soooooooooo wanna see that now! But I live in Sydney, so I doubt it'll even get through the censorship boards here, if it got an NC-17 just for violence. And I don't want anything to be cut. So it'll probably go straight to DVD here, which bites, cause being at the cinema is just so much better! Does any of you know anything about the release of it in Australia?
Duude, that pig/man/whatever it is. I love it. When I saw what looked like the promo poster of that pig snout I was like "whatdahell?" and staring at it forever, and then I looked down and saw the... thing... and I now can't stop staring at that. Even now as I type this I have to keep on scrolling down to have another look at it! This pig-man's Jigsaw, right? Or some other thing. Either way... DAMN I wanna see this movie! EDIT - I was bored and reading it's reviews (all really good!) and apparently this film is made by two Aussie directors! I feel patriotic now. Hee. *waves Australian flag* __________________
